How do I replace keyboard on Gateway EG70

Keyboards are easy to change in most laptops, just be easy when installing the new one... don't press any keys down at an odd angle or the keypads will come off! You will need a precision screw driver set... usually used to service watches and small electronics. Tiger Direct sells them. Nothing fancy, run about $8. The parts manual for your PC or laptop with have the schematic which shows you the parts, study it carefully to determine which screws hold the pieces to remove the bezel that surounds the upper part of the keyboard, just under the screen. There are a few small screws there. The keyboard in then extracted towards the screen and an angle, disconnect the ribbon connector for it as soon as you can get a little access to remove it. It just slides out with a little pressure, don't tug on the ribbon cable or you can break the connector. Put the new one in the reverse order and replace the bezel.

Nv5207u gateway the power light come on , but the screen will not come up and I think it stop trying to start up. I can hear it stop

If you can, try and connect your laptop to an external display and see if it outputs to that display. If so, you may have an LCD or video card issue. If not, it could again be the video card or the motherboard. Look for blinking lights when powering on the machine. These can oftentimes be errorcode displays.

Power light blinking on nv53a gateway

Your Gateway laptop comes with a series of LED lights that alert you to the state of your computer. You'll notice there are blue, purple and red lights that either blink or display solidly. Each light, blinking or solid, has a different meaning. The blue blinking light on your laptop indicates that it is in Standby mode. Your laptop goes into Standby when you close its lid without shutting down the computer. To turn this light off, you'll need to take the computer out of Standby mode, and if you want to ensure that the blinking blue light does not return, shut down the computer after each use.

Open the lid of your Gateway laptop and press the power button. Once Windows loads, enter your password if required. The blue light will no longer be blinking because the computer is no longer in Standby mode. Shut the laptop off when you finish using it rather than simply closing the lid to stop the blue light from blinking again. Click "Start" from your Windows desktop and click "Shut down." Change your computer's power settings to keep if from going into Standby mode when you close the lid if you'd rather not shut down your computer every time you use it. Click "Start" and click "Control Panel." Click "System and Security" and then click "Power Options." Click "Choose what closing the lid does" from the list of options on the left side of the window. Select "Hibernate" from the drop-down lists under "On Battery" and "Plugged In." Click "Save Changes." Your laptop will now bypass Standby mode when you close the lid and it will enter Hibernate mode instead. Hope it helps.

My FPD1976W Gateway monitor will display for only 2-3 seconds then go black. I can turn monitor off then back on it will display for 2-3 seconds then again go black. Start button is not blinking. Does this...

You've got it, one of the circuit boards has one or more failed capacitors.

If you decide to take it apart, check for capacitors with either a bulging top or a yellow stain underneath on the board itself.

Befored taking it apart, because you will, even if just slighty, damage the screen case, check your warranties. I had one pop recently, it had a 3 year - return to base warrany.

I have a gateway FPD1975W monitor with a Gateway GT5482E computer. The monitor does not display the computer output - the blue power light blinks off and on steadily and every so often the monitor says...

From your description you have a power supply problem, usually caused by defective capacitors, sometimes they will bulge at the top indicating an open condition. If you decide to repair check the inverter board that powers the back lights behind the screen, because they are also prone to bad caps.
