Question about RCA Dolby Digital Decoder Home Theater System - Black RT2761HB

Open Question

Sound cuts out after being turned on for a while

We hooked the RCA home theater system to the Direct TV box and DVD player and it seemed to work fine last night but this morning after about 4 hours of having the tv on the sound quit. I had to shut off the unit and turn it back on again and the sound was back but it cut off again in less than an hour. Is there a fix or is it just faulty?

SOURCE: I have a new 52"

I have the same situation....what I have done is connected my Blue ray to the TV via the HDMI connection and the audio to the RTDVD1 via an Optical cable. I find this is the best connection and sound reproduction so far. The input of the RTDVD is the SAT/Optical input and then switch the source to SAT/OPT. You will have to make adjustments in the BlueRay player's audio setup to enable the 5.1 DB digital sound etc.

SOURCE: when i unplug my rca rt2250 home theater system.

this is the amp IC and while unplugging and plugging it in again helps reset the IC for a little while , it will eventually completely quit and will need replaced
make sure that none of the speaker wires(bare wires) are touching or look like they might be where they are connected at
also if turning up the volume makes it cut out or sound bad then this will also indicate a bad amp IC

SOURCE: Can't figure out how to connect a subwoofer to my RCA RTD315W

HI,the rca system should have a sub pre out socket, plug a phono cable into this then to input on your sub and set volume to half way, also make sure the sub is set to on in the setup menu on the system.
Hope this helps.

How do you get sound to come from tv out of speakers of home theatre system

It just depends on the tv you have. If you hook up the RCA jacks to the (Audio out) of the TV into one of the (AUX in) ports of the home Theatre system you should be able to geet the sound that comes from the TV to play out the theatre system. If you are watching through a cable box you will need to hook the RCA cables to the cable box (Audio out) too the theatre systems (AUX in), in insted.
