My monitor broke and uniden says cannot buy replacement or repair. Is there a way to connect my 4 cameras to another monitor or is there software so I can connect to laptop?

You would probably be best off buying another monitor from Uniden. The system is a proprietary system made to control the operation. Uniden is the only one that can answer if there program you can use on a laptop.

The Camera and monitor have been working fine until the other day, all of a sudden the monitor seemed to stop receiving a signal from the camera. I plugged the camera in right next to the Monitor and kept...

Hi Thomas...
I just fixed the same exact system today witch i bought at a local thrift store. I did nt know if it worked or not but I am a tier 3 tech for largest call centers trained in computers Tvs and wirless etc. So i like to find these sort of things and see what makes them tick..
The one i got today was a SUMMER SJ126104 exactly like the one U have but only 2 channels not 3.
First question for u is does the camera or monitor have any lights come on showing it is getting power? The camera has a green light above the lens and monitor has green and red lights below in blue area. I found that the camera did power up but the monitor didnt show any lights or make sound or responded. I did a quick check and found that the monitor power cord had juice but no response. Now I dont recommend doing this yourself because unless ur trained and know what and how to protect yourself and other possible dangers from shock or causing fire hazzards that could put you and your precious little one at RISK..
This info is for just that INFO not repairs..OK? I opened up the monitor on my grounded protected tech bench and checked out first is it getting power on to the MB power grid from power pin..YES it I checked and found a 5volt glass in breaker and with a mag glass and circut checker it had blown out ..and could see the wire broken inside so no power reached the board. Now this is the reason i dont want u to do this yourself..if that circet had been tripped and blown it did so since its job was to portect the rest of the board from being damaged or fire. thats what there there for. so dont try to replace it since something went wrong that caused this to short out.
So i want you to think about is this worth taking in and having it chked and if so fixed..or better to be safe and figure on getting another one because of the fact u dont want to let a few dollars buying new one over taking a chance that this one is unsafe..
Ill follow this and if u have any questions or better a solutions comes about please post for me..

I have a Javelin home security monitor and cameras. The date on the back of the monitor says it was manufactured 1999, can I still get additional cameras for it? The Model # FAMYC1400C.

Not being a specialist in home security, here's what I would suggest:
Don't go by the monitor alone. Every monitor has a certain number of camera connections on it. If you have used all the connections, then that's where you stop. If you have a couple of extra connections available, look instead at the cameras themselves. Check the power & data wires and look for a camera with comparable connections. You may not be able to find the exact make/model of camera, but I'm sure you can find cameras that will work.

Im trying to log into my cameras and i keep getting the Digia2 "failed to create CreateSurface[m_pDDSMergeImage0]!!!" Why is this happening. I dont have this problem on my other computers. the...

I had exactly this issue and managed to resolve it by changing my monitor (i know, it sounds weird but i tried everything else).

My specific situation is that i am viewing the cameras across a Vmware View connection (essentially, fancy remote desktop). I think that the issue is somehow related to a DirectX / DirectDraw component not working correctly but i couldn't swear to it.The "fix" (i believe) cam when Windows 7 could readily identify the monitors by their model number rather than a "Generic Non-Plug & Play Monitor" like the original monitors were (I swapped out some old Dell 18" screens for sme shiny new Dell 22" ones).

Hope that helps point you in a useful direction.

Will not show picture and camera is working. Is

Not too much info here. Based on your statement, I'm guessing you are trying to connect a digital camera to your monitor to display pictures on it.

1) Does the monitor work fine as a monitor on its own?

2) Make sure you're on the right display/input setting on your monitor.

3) How do you know the camera's TV-out function is working? Have you tried it on other TVs?

Its possible that the camera is not in display mode. Its also possible that the camera's TV-out is not working. Its also possible that something about the output from the camera is not compatible with your monitor. I would try the following:

1) Test the camera on another TV to make sure the TV-out is working.

2) If its working, go to the appropriate input/source setting on your monitor, before connecting the camera. Then connect the camera, when the camera is off. If nothing displays then turn the camera on, and see what happens.

If that doesn't work, it may be possible that your camera displays in a different set of settings (resolution, etc) than your monitor is able to display. Also I would check the manual for your camera to make sure there isn't some way to adjust the settings.

What does the green/white wire connect to on my jensen vm9312hd? Says it is reverse +

Rear View Camera Input: The VM9313 features a composite video input and a green/white wire lead attached to the harness for connection of a rear view camera. If a rear-view video camera is connected, the unit is on, and the TFT monitor is retracted inside the unit, the TFT monitor automatically moves into the viewing position and Camera modes is selected upon shifting into Reverse gear. When shifting into Drive gear, the TFT monitor is retracted back inside the unit. If the monitor is already in a viewing position and in display mode, the monitor automatically switches to Camera mode upon shifting into Reverse. When the reverse driving stops, the monitor returns to its original input display mode. You can choose for the monitor to display a Mirror mode image or a Normal mode image from the rear-view camera.
