my dvd burns will burn and read cd's but wont do anything with dvd's the computer syas that they are burned but they really are not

Try using a good wuality dvd cleaner. After that use a known good dvd to see if the drive will play it. If it does then try burning a dvd. Hopefully this will fix it. If not then there may be internal lens issues with the drive and it would be cheaper to replace than to fix. Hope this helps.
