Question about Hoover F6212-900 / F6215-900 SteamVac Agility Upright Vacuum

Hoover agility steamer lower hose broken

Same problem! Our dirty water return hose is spilt right at the base. I suspect that it's been that way for quite some time. No wonder our carpets never got clean.

Judging by the interference between the vacuum hose and the "dirty water return" hose, there is NO WAY those two hoses can exist together in that housing without causing the dirty water return hose can last more than a 20 or 30 full bends of the handle. That is crazy.

If someone has a design and parts suggestions for routing the hose differently (perhaps outside of the handle) I'd be interested. Otherwise, I'm not even going to bother repairing this failed piece of enginering.

Go in your garage or to your workbench and grab a BFH whack the **** out of the rest of the steamvac and never buy one again. For those of you not familiar with a BFH it is a Big F_ _ _ ing Hammer.

I loved the machine until the hose broke. It is a nightmare to fix. The engineer should have to fix all that brake, he would no doubt come up with a better design. Dealers want half of what machine cost to repair. I will NEVER by another Hoover product! Maybe you can sell the rest of the machine on ebay but I doubt it.

Little suction and pours water underneath machine on the floor. This all happens while i am using the hand attachment tool, but also occurs when i tried just the machine is running..what am i doing wrong....

Press the handle release kick-button with your foot, extend the handle all of the way back, and take a look at the gap between the base of the unit and the handle/reseviour assembly. You should see several black hoses attached to the base and running up into the handle assembly. One of them (either the clean/solution hose or the dirty water return hose) might be cracked. Turns out that might be a common problem with this model. We had a similar problem with the dirty water return hose.

We opted to not repair our unit (terrible engineering!), but you might be able to do it yourself for the cost of the part and several hours of your time. Otherwise, seek out your certified Hoover repair center for more info.

Where is schematics online to replace lower hose assembly part

There is no schematic that I am aware of. I can tell you that from experience that this repair is very difficult. Basicaly the upper and lower handle unscrew along with the tank base, the hood comes off. the lower handle will split but not comes completely apart to remove the hose section. When reassembling, be sure to put the back hose gasket in the correct position. Look at it (take a picture) prior to repair first.

UPDATE: I McGuyverized it myself with a dremel cutoff tool, some vinyl tubing, some 2-part epoxy, and a lot of faith. It sure isn't pretty, but it sucks again. :)
