    My original message was:

I believe that it is not exporting anything because the musics just disapear

The answer posted (a codec problem, which is not recognized by iTunes) did not explain what kind of software I should use, or if I can fix this EZ converter problem.
Where do I find the solution?
Sorry, but this post was not useful for me.

  • cmkyaw Jun 18, 2009

Unfortunately, I cannot modify any settings in the EZ converter.
It is fully "automatic"! You just have to click to record and then to put the names of the tracks and artists.
In the next step it says: now the songs will be exported to iTunes, and the process is over.
I thank you, but again, this will not solve my problem

  • cmkyaw Jun 18, 2009

I have done this many times!
    This is not the problem.
Thank you, but this will not solve my problem

  • cmkyaw Jun 18, 2009

I am absolutely sure that I have checked this issue of preferences.
It seems that my problem is very unusual. I really do not know how to solve it.
    I am frustrated!!!
    Anyway, thank you!

    Please
I would like to cancel my request because nither of the possible solutions solve my problem.
I am very grateful to all that tried to help me, but the posts did not solve the problem.
In this sense, I thin it is better to cancel my request.
Thank you all, but this seems to be a very complicated issue and I will not try to resolve it now, because I am frustrated.

sorry but your post has no use for me because I do not know anything about codec and etc..
Please, I am tired and very upset because there is no straightforward solution.
It seems that all suggestions are guesses.
Really, lets forget about is now.
I am really grateful for the opinions and help that everybody sent me, but they did not solve my problem.
Please, cancel my request because I do not believe that a solution will be found

  • cmkyaw Jun 18, 2009

I have solved the problem by myself!
    Thank you for your help.
The EZ audio converter did not retain the track, album and artist names when exporting the songs. It creates temp files, naming them EZACT.....
I found it later and now everything works fine
In this sense, I am glad to say that I have solved this strange problem
Thank you very much for your help, but the problem was a matter of files renaming by the software

  • cmkyaw Jun 18, 2009

As I told many times, I HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM and would like to finish this issue.
As I solved by myself, I will not accept any new suggestion, because I do not want to be charged for soimething that I have resolved alone.
The problem is that I do mnot know how to put an end to this matter, because there is no place where I can communicate that the problem is solved without any external help. In this sense, I will continue with these explanatory responses

  • cmkyaw Jun 18, 2009

If I accept this solution, will I be charged?

I do not agree to be charged because I have solved alone my problem.

Until this charge s not clear to me, I will not accept the solution

There will be a charge no matter what - if you don't accept any solution for 7 days.

FixYa has a pretty good (and liberal) 30 day refund policy.

Accepting an answer simply takes it out of the Queue so no more experts see or answer it... then you can submit a refund request to the eMail address I replied with earlier....or premium.support@fixya.com

Each refund request is reviewed, and when applicable - refunded.

Glad to hear your problem is solved.

Synthia your problem is that you can't play a particular music file exported by your EZ audio converter. 1a. So first check wether ur audio converter is sending anything to your external HDD or not. For that simply check the used size of the disk note it down and then export a large music file to your itune library and then again check the used size of the disk if is increasing then deffinetly your converter is working.
1b. Search for files in your external HDD *.* under the option created today. 1c. It will show you what extn your converter is giving to your exported music file I require that for further assistance.

2a. If the size remains same your converter is not working.
2b. Under this case I'd like to know from which source you want to convert your file and to what output and your choice of Operating system wether u can work on just mac or xp also so I can provide you with another converter.
Waiting for your response

First check your harddisk is detected properly and also check usb drivers .if it is external usb harddisk.

Also check codec and converter.
i think there is issue with codec or converter.
Some sound dfilkes need compress sion like .dss, .mp3.rm etc that is type of different compresssion

Your problem is very easy, this time music library is maybe not on his path where the music belong... or your external drive change the drive letter...
and about the codec problem, install the codec pack to support all your mp3 and video files

1. Make a new folder on the ExtHD. I called mine "New iTunes".
2. Change your iTunes location: iTunes>Preferences>Advanced>Change and select the location of the "New iTunes" file
3. File>Add to Library and select your old iTunes Music folder and click "Choose"

What you'll then see is your iTunes library start to get populated with the songs. Yes, they're duplicates of the songs already in your library but you can go in and delete the ones with the "!" next to them and then you'll have it all back together again.

, it is easier than clicking on the ones with the "!", finding the file, clicking on it and so forth. You can at least use the up arrow with one finger and delete with another finger and get a little rhythm going to delete the ones with the exclamation points! Also don't worry if you hit one without an exclamation since it prompts you if you want to keep it in your library and you just hit "cancel".

when i had this same problem..... I had a corrupted XML file from shutting down while it was saving, and I added another external usb hard drive that remapped my music external harddrive from E:/ to F:/. I’ll deal with the drive issue first because that is probably what most people are running into.)
First, iTunes thought all my files were in E:/….. because that is where they were. I disconnected my music hdd, and plugged in another. When I plugged in my music hdd again, it assigned it F:/, so iTunes was looking in the wrong place. Simply finding one of the songs on the new drive letter didn’t update all of them. This can be fixed one of two ways. I’ll start with the simpler way.
1. You need to remap your music hdd back to what iTunes thinks is your hdd location. To do this, export your music list (you may have to try both .xml and .txt formats as my .txt didn’t show file locations, but my .xml did). Look at the file and look for either
XML: <key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/E:/My%20Music/M...
TXT: Location E:/My%20Music/M...
You can see it thinks that the files are in E:/ so change the music hdd drive letter back to E:/ by right-clicking My Computer, select Manage->Storage->Disk Management, right-click the device or partition, and select Change Drive Letter and Paths. If you already have an E:/ or whatever you need to change to, you can remap it to another letter to free up the letter you need or follow the alternate way listed below.

2. You could do like I did and rename the music hdd, and change where iTunes thinks it is. I did it this way to avoid this problem happening in the future. I changed the drive letter of my music hdd to M:/ by right-clicking My Computer, select Manage->Storage->Disk Management, right-click the device or partition, and select Change Drive Letter and Paths.
I then exported my music list (copied a backup of it incase what I did next messed it up), and made sure that the file I exported had the locations in it (XML: <key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/E:/My%20Music/M... or TXT: Location E:/My%20Music/M...). I then deleted all the songs in my iTunes library (in iTunes). I’m not sure if you have to do that step, but I didn’t want to take the chance of having duplicates.
Next, I went to the exported file, and did a find and replace.
Find what: //localhost/E:/My%20Music
Replace what: //localhost/M:/My%20Music
and let it run.
You have to be careful to use proper find and replace terms. If you just replaced E with M, you would change a lot of stuff you don’t want.
Next import songs in iTunes, and point it to your file where you replaced your characters.
This will unfortunately changes the Dated Added entries to today’s date.
If importing doesn’t work, you need to open the iTunes Library.itl file probably located C:\Documents and Settings{user name}\My Documents\My Music\iTunes with a txt editor, and delete everything and save. Then rename your xml file iTunes Music Library.xml and drop it into the same folder (overwriting the existing one). When you start up iTunes, it will repost your library “iTunes Library.itl” from the iTunes Music Library.xml file.

Now when I did this, I ran into my second problem, a corrupted xml file. It only uploaded a portion of my songs, and said there was an error. So I tried opeing the xml file with Word. It wouldn’t open, but it said where the error was. It said “an invalid character was found in text content, Error Location: line 233, Column 29” I opened the file in FrontPage to find the line and column, and one of my artists had a space in front, and it didn’t like that so I removed the space and it worked fine. Now you may have a better program for editing xml files, that is just what I used.

Since it's fully automated it's probably trying to access your default location for the itunes library which would be on the computer itself, not the external.

I know you've probably checked, but are you 100% sure you can't change ANY of the preferences?

You should also consider calling or emailing the company that makes that program. I'm sure they know the answer to your problem.

You might also want to run a disk utility check on that external, it might be a permissions issue as well.

Posted on Jun 18, 2009

Are you able to locate any "output" settings where you can specify where your external HD is located? The HD will need to be connected prior to using EZ Audio Converter for Mac, and the output settings should allow you to tell it to save the recordings on the external HD. This setting may be on the main screen where recording takes place, or within the options. I'm afraid you'll have to look for the output setting.

Best of luck!

The software is not 'seeing' the gap between the tracks, so it does not know the song has ended. Untick 'split recording into tracks' box, then sit with it as it records and click on new track every time a song ends. Tedious, but it works.

EZ Audio Converter does not export files to iTunes

I've had exactly the same problem, and so far no resolution from Ion. A small bit of good news: the .wav files are on the hard drive, although without any track info. At least on Vista, they are in username/AppData/Local/Temp. The files are name Temp0, Temp1, Temp 2, ...

You can use iTunes to add these files (File/add file) and then convert them to .mp3s, or whatever format you prefer. Or you could convert them first using the tool of your choice, such as Audiograbber.

This is inconvenient, but a lot better than re-ripping the vinyl after EZVinyl hangs.
