Double check the red..yellow and ground wires..sounds like your not getting power.. check fuse in unit itself.. when installing any component in a vehicle..triple check and use things like solder and shrink wrap..always remove negative cable from vehicle battery prior to starting work or adjustments .also prior to removing cable from battery..reference owners manual.. some vehicles need to be disconnected a certain way to avoid future electrical and drivability problems..also ensure faceplate is secure

Volume down button doesn't work

hi, make sure the face pins are clean; try resetting the unit; check to see if the feel of the down switch is the same as the up switch....if not then your down switch is faulty and needs to be replaced. confirm the volume down operation by using the remote control (if available), if it works then your problem lies with the switch or a broken connection between the switch pins and the face control circuit. cheers.

Sk4000 remote will not pair with headset, tried everything and checked with support. They said be sure and pair remote before pairing phone. Tried that and still nothing. if the remote is no good there is...

If you have verified that the battery is good in the unit, try this (from the folks at Parrot). The HCU is the main control unit.
1) Turn the HCU on
2) Clear the memory on the HCU by holding down the power button and accept call button (the two large buttons on the face of the HCU)
3) Wait until you hear the HCU make the request "please pair device"
4) Hold the volume up and the volume down keys on the remote for 15 seconds
5) Release the buttons on the remote.
It might be fixed now. Press the switch on the bottom of the remote to switch to radio and see.

make sure the unit does not have an external power switch for the wireless card or a button combination to enable the card. you can also check to make sure the driver for the device is properly installed by

1. right clicking on the my computer icon >
2. click properties
3. click device manager
4. click network adapters

make sure a device is listed with a description similar to "wireless lan adapter b/g"

RE: VOLUME BUTTON POSITION ON FACE OF UNIT

if there is a knob rotate it clock wise / to the right, to increase the volume, & anti clock wise to the left, to decrease the volume.

there may be buttons with this symbol ' ^ ' or ' + ' means volume up, there may be a ' - ' or ' v ' to decrease the volume.

or this one ' > 'can also mean up & this one ' < ' can mean down.

Hope this helps?

Yes, I'm sure Alpine will sell you another face but there is still the option of repairing the broken face at a good repair shop. Of course getting a new face is the easiest (read most expensive) way to get you going again.
