If it still cannot be turned on, check the fuse in the plug, or change the power cable for another from a different electrical appliance (the same connector though).
If this doesn't work the power supply has failed. Time for a new DVD player!

Tcp60st30 will not turn on

It is possible the power supply failed. Did you try a reset by unplugging the set from the AC for about ten seconds and re-plugging it back?

If the power supply failed, there can be another circuit board that has a fault that caused the failure, or the power supply can simply be in protect mode, because of a failure on another board.

The service rep would test by first replacing the power supply, and work from there...

On our Sony BDP-S360 DVD player, when we watch movies it keeps flashing a white bar across the bottom of the screen or flicker of white every once in a while.

you might have a loss connection?
what kind of cable are you using ?
hdmi / component / composite?
unplug the power cord to the ac outlet for 30 secs. and plug it in back. this is to refresh the unit.
turn on fan on the configuration of the unit ...

Possibly you just need a new power supply/battery charger. There is nothing "magic" about the original power supply. Take the player into an electronics supply shop. They should be able to look at it and match
Voltage In Voltage Out Power requirement (milliWatts or Watts) Connector Type Polarity (center of plug positive or negative)

Tv shut down wont go back on

This sounds like a problem with the power supply. Usually capacitors on the power supply board tend to dome, bulge,or dry up. The damaged ones can be seen on the power supply circuit board when the back is removed. The dry ones have to be removed and tested. The caps can be replaced at a repair shop for around $200, but if the power supply board has to be replaced it can cost a little more. It all depends on the shops repair fees.

Hp zd8000 wont turn on...

hi thanks for using fixya!!

Try first to remove the battery and connect the AC adapter to your laptop, you will use the power supply directly from the AC adapter without the battery. Turn on your laptop, then if its working normally as it should be,

Then try now to install back the battery then connect the AC adapter, turn it on. If still does not work, perhaps you have a problem with the battery.

If you need further assistance, let me know.

Does this problem show up when watching a movie from a DVD. or When u are just using coaxial cable ? If it doesn't show up when watching a DVD the problem is in you connection in you coaxial cable ( try tighten your connection or could be a bad cable) If it shows up while watching a DVD you need to add a surge power strip AC noise reduction.

No power

Apparently Audiovox does not support the pvs33116 dvd player. Nor does the manufacturer Alco. Support and accessories can be found at http://www.1800customersupport.com/products.aspx?type=pad&view=1385&p=75&sc=5

Thus one can purchase a $15.00 ac adapter, $20.00 battery, or a $10 dc adapter for a dvd player that's worth about 10 cents.

Should be under warranty and allowed to bring it back. Don't force the DVD tray out as that may ruin your chances of an exchange.
