How do i fix the storm door so it actually closes and can be locked?

A fix-it guy I had come to try to fix it and he kind of did, but didn't, said the storm door wasn't installed correctly. He took the door off and did some stuff but as you can see by the video, isn't working. The door closer broke and I tried to fix it but didn't. My dad knows how to repair that and is going to in two weeks when he visits

Ok first things first
The door closer should be on top of your door not on the bottom
2nd your door striker screws are not counter sinked in all the way which will damage your door
3rd your door is not square or the door frame is put of wack square
Put a tape measure on top right to bottom left and see what measurement you get and then do opposite cnr to corner to check to see if it is the same It should be the same
If its out of square try to take the dpor off put it on some saw horses and loosen all the screws then pull it into square then tightening the screws until its square n tight
If the door is straight try to check if the door frame is square
Pull those screws out of the door lock strike and put smaller but longer screws in it so the heads of the screws are flush not exposed like they are now

Hi.. I have a chrystler sebring convertible 2000, and I have 2 problems so far...

It's only one problem, really. Get the dash light to turn off and the interior lights should also go off.
Must be some kind of sensor on the door latch, maybe like a push button, that won't act correctly. Any way to tell which door is not working right? You will probably need to get to the latch to fix the problem, which means the door panel will have to be removed.

I put the latch on the door and the handle won't push in. When I loosen the screw, it is too loose

The actuating bar (the push rod) that actually works the lock was not properly sized. They are very finicky. If you cut it just a bit too long or too short it will cause all kinds of problems.

We opened the door, now door won't close. The closer rod is locked open

Turn the screw in the end of the shaft (on the door end) counterclockwise to release all the pressure.Once it closes or slams shut, use that screw to adjust the closing speed. Other problem could be the stay open lock (the metal piece that slides along the shaft) could be all the way out keeping the door from closing. If it is just push on the door a bit then slide the lock plate all the way back to the end of the shaft, and the door will close.

Get a gun and shoot it! Oh, it's a classic. Well, take the inner door panel off to get to the sticky mechanism. Once in there, it should be a simple fix. WD-40 doesn't help on the door latch to try and free it up?
Good luck, hope you get it fixed. I like seeing old cars on the road. and out of recycler's hands. Glad you didn't go for the Cash for Clunkers program, lol.

Does a 2002 Toyota RAV4 have a relay for window motor? This car is one of the cheap-material-made junk one ever buys, it took Toyota years to finally recall transmission problem on sears of 2001-2003 more...

Hi, there is only one relay for all of the windows, so that is not the problem. The likely problem is the switch. I recommend you test the switch using an ohmmeter.
In the case of the door lock, that problem may be a failed lock motor. I recommend you apply power directly to the lock motor to see if it works. If it does, check the switch. If not, replace the motor.

Oven door will not close because the door lock is on and flashing, also the oven light won't go off. how do I fix the door lock flashing so I can close the oven door completly?

is not actuallly physically closing??? perhaps the lock/ latch has partially engaged prevetning door from closing, and with the door oopen it cannot do anything for safety reasons. can you see a door /light switch thtyou can depress by hand??? if so push and hold it in the light should go out, and at this point continue to hold in switch and try starting a self clean cycle ( dont worry it wont actually start cleaning right away)it then should activet the latch assy to fully engage and suppoedly lock door, still depressing the button then press thecancel button and the latch should return to the normal resting position and you can close the door
