Without its remote control, you can't select its inputs. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its user manual. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. If you see the site by "MOSAIC" view, will make surf easier.

Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops.

SOURCE: Advent LC-15Y26 TV - Right side buttons not working (menu, input, power)

Yes, this mostly happens on most tv and dvd as their switches (called them Tact Switch Push Buttons) and in your tv control panel design is if one of only one button is internally shorting all keys are affected. I suggest to bring it to an electronic service center near you. Thanks for using Fixya.

When pressing menu on remote control I do not have a tv section listed to tune in channels

The TV channel settings Menu is usually only available when the Input is on TV. Look for a Source or Input button on the TV or the remote. Press this button and try to change to the TV source option.

Please add a comment with the make and model of the TV for additional information. (Unfortunately, many TVs don't let you change the source after pressing the Menu button and they don't always have a Source/Input button on the TV. Additionally, some replacement remotes don't even include a Source or Input button. For those with an Input button, you may need to try other codes to see if any will correctly work with the TV.)

How to get OSD on TV for a Pioneer Receiver

OSD for on your TV for a Pioneer Receiver setup menu. (It doesn’t matter what make your TV is).

Connect the MONITOR OUT video jack on the receiver to a video input on your TV. Use a standard RCA video cable to the composite video jack.

Turn your TV on and put your TV onto AV3. Turn your receiver on, then on your remote control push the receiver button (this is not the on/off button, there is another button with receiver written on it) then push the setup button on your remote control. You should get the OSD menu on your TV for the settings for your receiver.

How do i change the input

The 27" TV uses the same instructions as the 20", and I found the manual for you at the link below. Answering your question directly, here is the section of the instructions about changing input:
-----
Changing the TV's Input Normally, your TV displays the signal coming through the antenna terminal. However, if you've connected another component to your TV(such as a VCR & DVD) using the Video/Audio input, you will want to be able to view the signal from the component. To do this, you will need to switch from the ' TV ' input to the 'AV1-AV3, CVI' Input, as follows. 1 With the TV on, press the MENU button twice, then " Set-Up " menu will appear. 2 Use the WCHV buttons to select " Input ". 3 Press the CVOLB buttons to change the input source from ' TV ' to 'AV1, AV2, AV3, CVI'. 4 Wait 20 seconds, or press DISPLAY button or MENU button to return to normal TV viewing. * CVI means the Component Video Input (Y/ PB/ PR) from the DVD player etc.* Users can also select these input modes with the TV/AV button or the INPUT button on theremote controller. * On the AV1 mode , if you connect the S-VHS jack to your TV, "AV1" is changed to "S-VIDEO".

TV Doesn't Function: Can turn on, but no menu or input recognition

the set like all has a hard reset which requires a four digit number code and the original Mitsubishi remote---sets almost everything in the set back to original except convergence.

also, don't buy any TV or electronics on CL as people dump their problems on someone else..

I cant figure out how to put the tv on video 1

With the remote in TV mode, the input button on the remote should change the source (TV, AV1, etc. depending on the TV).

If the input button doesn't work, try a different code for your TV manufacturer. A code that controls the basic functions of the remote may not control the full set of functions of the TV. For some TVs, you can change the source from within the Menu. (It depends on the TV. I didn't notice if there was a Menu button that will open the TV menu on the RCA RCU600M.)

If none of the codes work, check if your TV has a Source or Input button on the unit. See if that button works.

If you have a different remote, please indicate the model.

I hope this helps.

HOW DO I AUTO SCAN CHANNELS ON VIEWSONIC VY2430

Do you mean the VT2430? Viewsonic doesn't list a VY2430.

For my Viewsonic TV, first make sure that your input is TV. (Press the Input button on the remote (upper left) or the TV (furthest right). Use the arrow keys or multiple presses of Input to change the current input.) Next press Menu. Use the up/down arrows to navigate to the TV menu (the icon looks like a TV). Press Enter. Set the type of incoming TV signal (Cable or Air or let the tv figure it out with Auto). Then go down to the line labeled AutoScan and press Enter. You may be prompted to begin the scan or to select the type of channels to scan. Press Enter again after making the selection.

Viewsonic has the manual for the VT2430 available on their site: http://www.viewsonic.com/products/vt2430.htm#tabbox_downloads . The direct link is http://www.viewsonic.com/assets/041/11502.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I hit the channel button instead of the volume button by accident and now my screen is fuzzy and I can't get my cable to come back on.

you need to change the tv back to the input your cable box is connected to. Look for a input button on your remote and keep pushing it until it gets to the right input(your cable will come back on). if that doesn't work go into your televisions menu and look for inputs on the menu and go through them till you find the right one. if you have any questions leave a comment on this thread and i will help you out.

I do not know how to do a channel scan, can you help me please? I seriously thought that I could find anything online but I have not been able to find how to channel scan this tv.

What brand/model TV do you have? If the TV has several input options, make sure that the TV is set to the TV mode. (Use the Input or Source button on the remote, some TVs have this on the TV as well but not always)

Some can only do a channel scan with the original remote. My old Emerson CRT (~20 years old) launched a channel scan when I pressed the Add and Delete Channel buttons together on the remote. Fortunately even when most of the buttons failed on that remote, the channel scan still launched.

Other TVs from that time frame have an channel scan button in the control panel. Often these are hidden behind a panel to avoid accidental resets.

More modern TVs usually have the scan as part of the menu. Depending on the TV, press Menu on the remote (or if available on the TV (sometimes can be done by pressing Ch+/Ch- together)). Then look for a Setup option or a TV icon. If you have a Setup menu, you will then need to go to the TV submenu. Then find the option for setting the input signal (TV/cable) and then you should be able to launch a channel scan. (Usually the Ch+/Ch- (up/down) and Vol+/Vol- (left/right) buttons will navigate through the menus.)

Unfortunately, without the make and model, I can't give you any more help. Please write back with your brand of TV and I'll check if I have the manual in my stack.

(low end universal remotes do not always include the menu or source button. If your TV doesn't have them, you may need a different remote. The ones that can be programmed via a USB connection are the easiest to set up.)
