Unless you are trying to install the 64bit version of Windows 7, it is not compatible with a uefi boot option - this has to be switched in the bios - F2 to access your bios, then look under boot options (I don't have the specific menu for that laptop) what you want is to enable legacy boot options.

Is it the correct format? The disk must be in proper format in order to install windows 7 on it. This link should help you even further: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/format-hard-drive-windows-7.htm

Simply formatting the hard drive does not remove all residual traces of the previous installation. When you get to the step for formatting, go to the advanced button and delete the partition that contained windows 8. Then create a new partition in the space, format, and install windows 7.

I can not boot windows 7

Try this - but it will delete all partitions and data on the hard drive:

At the first screen, hit <SHIFT>+<F10>. At the elevated command prompt type:
diskpart
list disk
select disk 0
clean

Is it possible to upgrade windows XP to windows 7

If you are asking could you upgrade directly from Windowx XP to Windows 7 as a direct upgrade, the answer is yes but it's not recommended.

The much better method is to use Windows Easy Transfer to move your important files from your computer onto an external hard drive. After all your files are backed up safely, it's best to start the Windows 7 install and when you get to the "Upgrade" or "Custom (advanced)" screen to choose Custom. This will open up the drive view. Click on "Drive options (advanced)" which will bring up the ability to delete the partitions.

If you find that you have more than one shaded area in the Drive 0 bar, you have more than one partition. Unless you have experience creating and modifying partitions, only delete the partitions on Disc 0 which are marked Drive (C:). Otherwise, you can decide what partitions you need to delete to make enough room for Windows 7.

I'm not sure if you've already done your homework or not but before you upgrade to Windows 7, run the update advisor to ensure your system and software is Windows 7 ready and make sure to collect the hardware drivers that work with the exact version of Windows 7 you are installing... 32 bit and 64 bit are totally different monsters!!!

Having all of your software install disks on hand, and all your backups (and a bootable copy of the backup software!!) and Windows 7 hardware drivers on an external hard drive is the best way to approach an upgrade.

Best of luck!! Hope this helps.

Will windows 7 instal on clean hard drive?

Why not? If the hardware is working, and the Version of Windows is not an upgrade you should be able to do a clean install it. If the disk is not formatted, Windows will ask you to format it. After that, arm yourself with patience and install.

Please take a close look at the disk you are using to install "Windows 7 Ultimate". It is definitely a "Recovery Disk" for Windows 7 Ultimate. You cannot install Windows 7 with a recovery disk. Recovery disk always is used to repair corrupt or damaged files of Windows OS and requires that the Operating System is already installed. You need a "Windows 7 Ultimate" Installation disk to install Windows not a recovery disk for Windows.

How to remove windows 7 from dual boot configuration with xp

The simplest way is to install the OS you want again Also there are some other way. but if you don't skill of PC, it's difficult to remove it thoroughly. You can find the hidden file "boot.ini" in C:'s root directory. there are some words like this:
[Boot Loader] Timeout=10 Default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS (This is the default OS) [Operating Systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /nodetect" multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /nodetect
and the 1, 2 in the () means C:/ and D:/ if they are in the same partition, you have to distinguish which one is you don't want, and remove it here and then removed all the OS files and users directory files.

It's time to purchase a replacement disk-drive, and then to install Windows Vista onto it, and then connect the "old" drive as a 'SLAVE' disk-drive, to see if you can copy any files onto the "new" disk-drive.

1. If you are just setting up your computer to have an a regular HDD and Backup HDD, i would think you should be able to set that up by booting onto your computer regularly, go to start, then into My Computer and right clicking on the HDD you want to set as Raid 1.

But if just want that other HDD for Space on your computer, all you had to do was plug it in and there you go... extra space.

Now if your installing windows 7 on the other drive i would find that pointless because you already have it on your first drive unless your putting 2 operating systems onto your computer.

Hope this helps.
