Question about Electrolux Dryers
Power is connected and electronic controls are functional, drum turns freely by hand, just prior to the problem a shoe got wedged inside the drum and stopped rotation - this was corrected and restart was ok. Shoe got stuck again and the dryer paused itself again - restart attempt was unsuccessful - no the humming sound and no rotation of the drum when the start is pressed

no problem with motor or control board. fault is with the motor capacitor only. this is often attached to the motor or near it. the value of the capacitor will be printed on it (usually about 8uf) and you should be able to source from an electrical spares shop

Sounds like a weak motor. You'll have to get a new motor installed. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to install yourself on that type of machine if you are handy. Motor is located in the bottom right of the machine, attached to the drum belt through a small pulley underneath the drum next to the motor.

Hello drew_wedemey -Typically error code E52 indicates that the unit has a faulty motor. If the drum does not turn freely by hand, then I highly suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose the following; motor windings, L1 power supply voltage and the motor thermal protector.
