If you change the boot order in the bios, it is there.

SOURCE: Lenovo C100 will not boot to bootable CD

Hello brush71, it most likely is.
I suggest going to BIOS and trying to enable the cd drive.
If not possible, perhaps there is a hardware failure.
As you've described a problem with the Hard-Drive as well, I would suggest, if warranty is still applicable, to turn to your nearest Lenovo lab and have the computer fixed.

Hi i have problem in booting window 98 cd in my lenovo laptop. i want this because i want this for formating my leaptop with DISKMANAGER SOFTWARE but it not running the bootable disk.

in the bios you must enable auto detect for primary master, primary slave, secondary master and secondary slave if it is set to none your computer wont boot the cd.

i dunno what bios options they give you on your lenovo laptop.

is this a legitmate retail windows 98 SE disk?

if its a bootleg copy it might not be bootable.

don't forget to backup your data before you format
