Did this problem recently start is the model number I am reading correct MFW9700 front loaders are hard to unbalance due to the fact the control will stop the spin and reverse direction in an effort to redistribute the load on a concrete floor which is smooth the high RPM's in spin will cause it to walk I have seen more broken counter weights than a broken shock this will definitely cause it to shake like crazy again my thought process is that the machine has previously worked in the same location

I have it fixed. Screw came off . So is it normal for the machine to walk that much over time. It is on ceramic tile floor for what it's worth.

I guess I learned something I have heard of this and they sell theses pads that are suppose to stop the violent shaking as a tech I would like to know the screw that solved the problem just because I am a tech does not mean I have seen or know it all

As soon as you take out 3 lower screws that hold down the lower panel you'll see another set of screws that hold down the upper half so the right corner one had been off and laying around in that panel. Was really a simple fix. I'll be interested to look into those pads that go underneath the machine.

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune Front Loader washing machine - door won't lock

It won't spin because the door won't lock. The door won't lock because the door lock mechanism is bad. I ran into this many times with the Neptune's when I was working for Sears. It is not a very easy fix. It is a pain to get to that door lock and replace it. You will most likely need a repair person to come out and fix it. I hope this helps you, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I hope you have a good rest of the weekend though and let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck.

SOURCE: Maytag front loader washing machine. Mould

I had the same problem with my Neptune washer until I ran a cycle with straight vinegar and water.  This helped get rid of the mold.  I have to run a "vinegar" cycle about every 10 cycles.  I would try cleaning the seal with vinegar first and let it air dry.  Neptune washers need to air dry after every cycle.

SOURCE: how do i remove the front panel of a maytag

Most of the machines I have seen/serviced have the sides, front and sometimes the rim of the top assembled as a unit, not individual pieces. Removing the panels in the rear of the machine will give access to everything although sometimes one needs to be Gumby for working on them.

Must have the actual model number. Probably located on a tag behind the door when you open it. Maytag 200 series is not enough information.

May tag front loader machine shaking so much during a cycle that one side of the machine has been dislodged from the body

you may have a broken dampener, its like a shock absorber on a car, when they fail the machine will shake or even rip its inside out. you will need to replace the set and check for damage to the inside, some times it will warp the shell and if it has done this its not repairable as it will be out of balance.

Hello Ruby Torres - I understand that you will like instructions on how to operate the washer, however may I please have the model number so I can assist you better in pinpointing you the information. Generally speaking, the serial tag on a front load washer is usually located on the upper front, as you open the door.

At end of drying time clothes are steaming hot nut not dried. Could this be the moter for circulating the air to the condenser box? E10 shows now after a few minutes. thanks. malcolm

I'm also not a repair professional, just a trained electronics and mechanical engineer of 25 years experience.

My 16830 had been showing error E20 (draining problem) for a few days on and off and the tumble drier was not doing it’s job very well at all, so this is what I have done to fix it, as it sounds that this fault may be similar to yours.
The fault (more like design fault) was that the condenser was blocked up with grey sludge from the drying process and this prevented the hot air from circulating around the drum during the tumble dry cycle.
The condenser box is a large clear plastic unit located on the left hand side if you view the machine from the rear.

Before you go any further I must advise that you UNPLUG THE MACHINE before starting, as MAINS 230V IS PRESENT ON EXPOSED POINTS inside the machine.
1. REMOVE THE MAINS POWER – VERY IMPORTANT as live parts are exposed inside the machine.
2. Remove the top – two screws on the top edge of the rear panel (8mm hex drive)
3. Release the mains cable clamp on the top edge
4. To remove the rear outer casing half - 11 screws have to be removed.

Four 8mm hex drive screws on the top left & right side.
One cross head screw on the inside holding the water inlet.
One screw 8mm hex drive on the left holding the blower.
Three screws on the rear base.
Two final screws – located behind white grommets half way along the left and right half side at the base.
5. Carefully remove the rear casing half.
6. The condenser box is located on the left as viewed from the rear of the machine (see picture).
7. Disconnect the top horizontal pipe from the main condenser box and soap tray.
8. Release the bottom of the condenser box by freeing the clip.
9. Carefully lift the condenser box and withdraw it from the blower.
10. Clean it out – yuck what a job....
11. Refit in reverse order and test.
This fixed my machine a treat – clothes are dry, smell nice and we use less electricity – I would say a success!!1a1fdf2.jpg

Kenmore front load washer shows door not locked but the door is locked and will not unlock. it will not start either.

Try pressing 'end of cycle' for 3 seconds. You hear a click? Then wait for 2 minutes before trying the door, do not force door. No luck? Plug off the mains. Tilt machine backwards to unscrew 3 screws below the front panel, the kick panel. Slide the panel downwards & out.

Put your hand up towards the lock portion (inside the machine that is), you will feel a tear shaped thing, pull this thing a quarter of an inch down, the door will click open. Check to see that all wires are connected well.

Next try some WD40 on the door mechanism on machine, not on door, & try the door open/close a few times. Would be nice to know what service remember.(!)

Washer shakes vigorously

The front 2 legs should be screwed in completely, and locked with the check nut. This means the machine is lowest in the front. If you find any shake (try with both your hands) adjust accordingly. Normally the machine adjusts itself if the weight is un-balanced; but it cannot do anything if the legs are uneven.

For Flinsky:
There could be some spring or shock-absorber come loose inside the machine. Plug off the wall, remove panel behind & check. If you could remove the top to check fine.
