Question about Maytag EPIC MFW9700S Front Load Washer
Machine shakes so much that upper half of the machine has been dislodged from the main box
Did this problem recently start is the model number I am reading correct MFW9700 front loaders are hard to unbalance due to the fact the control will stop the spin and reverse direction in an effort to redistribute the load on a concrete floor which is smooth the high RPM's in spin will cause it to walk I have seen more broken counter weights than a broken shock this will definitely cause it to shake like crazy again my thought process is that the machine has previously worked in the same location

I have a couple of question, 1. did you remove the block? 2. is the machine on a concret floor? 3 how old is your machine?

It won't spin because the door won't lock. The door won't lock because the door lock mechanism is bad. I ran into this many times with the Neptune's when I was working for Sears. It is not a very easy fix. It is a pain to get to that door lock and replace it. You will most likely need a repair person to come out and fix it. I hope this helps you, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I hope you have a good rest of the weekend though and let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck.

I had the same problem with my Neptune washer until I ran a cycle with straight vinegar and water. This helped get rid of the mold. I have to run a "vinegar" cycle about every 10 cycles. I would try cleaning the seal with vinegar first and let it air dry. Neptune washers need to air dry after every cycle.

Most of the machines I have seen/serviced have the sides, front and sometimes the rim of the top assembled as a unit, not individual pieces. Removing the panels in the rear of the machine will give access to everything although sometimes one needs to be Gumby for working on them.

Push the start/stop button until the light goes off. This will shut the cycle off.

Hello Ruby Torres - I understand that you will like instructions on how to operate the washer, however may I please have the model number so I can assist you better in pinpointing you the information. Generally speaking, the serial tag on a front load washer is usually located on the upper front, as you open the door.
