If you are not sure where to reattach the wire it would be best to take it to a qualified repair center.

HOW DO I HOOK UP THE WIRES TO THE MOTOR I FORGOT

You should only have 4 wires to hook up to an Oreck motor. The black wire from the cord coming into the back of the motor housing will be attached to the closest lead when the motor is in it's normal position. Most of the time there will be a black dot next to the terminal. On the other side of the motor you should have two white wires that should be connected together, one from the same cord just mentioned and the other one coming from your lights. Those two wires should also be connected to the motor where there is a black dot beside the terminal. Your last black wire coming from the lights should go to the terminal next to where the white wires are connected or to another terminal that is on that side of the motor. Hope this helps!

Need a wiring diagram for an Oreck XL 9100 with a amatek motor.Seen one but to small to read.

Jerry, typically the way it should be wired, is the black wire from the handle cord will go to the closest terminal on the motor from where the cord comes into the back of the power head. There should be a black dot beside the terminal. The two white wires should go to a terminal diagonal from the black wire connection and should also have a black dot beside that terminal. The other black wire should go to the terminal beside the terminal that the white wires are connected to. If there are not two terminals side by side then the black wire will go to another terminal that will be on the same side of the motor as the white wire. Hope this helps!

How do I wire an oreck xl9100 motor

The black wire coming from the power cord will go onto the terminal closest to where the cord goes into the vacuum. Sometimes there is a black dot next to the terminal. The white wire from the cord will attach to a piggy-back terminal on the white wire coming from the lights and will attach to the motor on the other side of the motor from where the black wire attached. There may also be a black dot beside that terminal as well. The black wire from the lights will attach to a terminal on the side where you attach the white wires, either right next to them or above them on the same side of the motor. Hope this helps you.

How do i reattach wires to motor from cord and lights

Black wire from the power cord goes onto the wire connection closest to where it comes into the back of the vacuum. There should be a black dot beside the wire connection on the motor. On the other side of the motor, there should be another black dot beside a wire connection and the two white wires will go there. The white wire coming from the lights usually has a double connection and it will go on first and then the white wire from the power cord will go onto the other side of the double connector. The black wire coming from the light usually will go to a wire connector right next to the white wires or just above it . Hope this helps!

Can't hook up power cord to main motor on Hoover model F5915100

You have a black and white and green wire. Green is ground white is neutral, black is hot . Should say on the motor either L1 = black wire. L2 = white wire , G = Green wire or it say H = black wire, N = white wire , G or the symbol for ground = green wire

Oreck U4148 motor wiring

Pat, I do not have a diagram for you but I can tell you how they normally are hooked up. When you have the motor sitting in it's normal position the black wire from the power cord will attach to the terminal closest to where the cord comes in. There should also be a black dot next to the terminal. The two white wires will connect together and they will go on a terminal on the other side of the motor that also has a black dot next to it. The remaining black wire should connect to a terminal next to the white wires or at least on the same side of the motor as the white wires. Hope this helps you.

Vaccum was being used and suddenly stopped. checked the filter, circuit breaker, and pressed restart button. still does not come on

To test the vacuum motor and circuit card, detach low voltage wires from vacuum. Using insulated needle-nose pliers, place points of pliers in each wiring connector. This should start and run the motor as long as the pliers are in place. If it does, the problem is elsewhere, If the motor doesn't run, either the motor, circuit board, or internal wiring is bad. It needs to be taken to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store for repair/s.
If the motor runs, the problem exists in the hose and attachments. Broken wiring, switches, and worn or loose wand connections could be the problem. If you are unable to test the hose and wiring for continuity, take the whole machine to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store for a free diagnosis.

Replaced Oreck power switch. 2 black leads and 1 white lead for switch. Posts marked 1, 2, and 3. 2 black wires to switch powers on. Connect white wire and breaker trips. Where does the white wire go?

Both black go to the switch. Power in - black to switch / white to white from motor.
From motor - black to switch / white to white from power cord
The black wire from the power hooks to the off end of the switch and the black wire from the motor hooks to the on end. Third post is not used. The two white wires are connected to each other with a small twist on wire nut.

Hoover U6317-930 - Turbine Locked Up!

You will need to remove the hood as though changing the belt. Then best to detach the handle/ bag chamber with the black screw at the lower end in the center.
Lay the vac flat and you should see two clamps over the motor housing, one on either side. Undo the clamps and the motor will lift out. There will be four more screws holding the fan shroud onto the motor housing. Remove these and detach the fan end only. Installation is the reverse order. The fan itself will unscrew if replacing, just secure the motor shaft without damaging it.
Polish the motor shaft clean for a new belt, removing burned rubber. I use 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper or steel wool.
Any evidence of a damaged fan blade means a new fan is required.
While you're at it, unscrew the end caps on the brush roll and remove the hair and thread. Then reassemble so it spins freely when holding the end caps. Install a new genuine belt. It will be snug, use the brush to pull it into place.
When reassembling be sure to engage the carpet height control through the lid
If this helps please acknowledge. If not psot back with the next problem

The motor will need either a rebuild with new bearing, or replacement. Parts should be no more than $100 .EASY project. 20 minutes max fro a pro shop. If you can tie your shoes you can do this one yourself.
If replacing, upgrade to a ball/ ball ( double ball bearing) motor, same height, generally an AMTEK Lamb. A ball ball motor will give longer life
Under the cap you have removed are 3 screws.
You will detach them last. Note they are slightly offset in their pattern.
Open the vac as though changing the cone. Remove the plastic cone by undoing the center screw. Remove the inner filter disc and change . This should be changed every 6 months...
Now you will see three, screws or nuts in a triangle pattern. Detach them. Remove the rubber switch pedal from above .
.Now detach the upper 3 screws and the motor housing will lift off. Voila. Inspaect the cord inside and out for wear at it's socket. Now is the time to shorten if required.
There should be an insulating disc about the size of a coin between the motor top and the screen below the vac handle. You MUST reinstall on the new motor in case of a short in the vac.
Remove the foam or felt "muffler" and clean or replace.
Remove the wire nuts and note the wiring pattern for the switch, motor and power head. Note the motor position versus the cord. Mark with felt pen and reinstall the same.
Do not twist the wires when reinstalling, only twist the wire nuts. Check that they are tight and reinstall in opposite order.
Please post back if tehre is a problem or this helps
