The hose is blocked, how do I get it off to unblock?

Hey, this is Tristan with Crucial Vacuum,

In order to remove the hose to start unblocking it, do the following:
1. Put the vacuum in the upright position
2. Press the release button of the telescopic wand and remove the handle from the hose
3. Push the hose elbow downward into the catch hooks.
4. Undo the suction hose by twisting it at the elbow.

If the blockage isn't in this location you can do the following to search further for blockages:

5. Open the service flap on the back of the vacuum.
6. Unscrew the screws and pull the cover free.

Below I have attached a link to the users manual for the Miele S7210. You should refer to page 30 to view the diagrams pertaining to my suggestions.

How do I stop my miele revolution s758 from cutting out

If you pull on the cord's rewind and it cuts in and out, then the repair we do is to remove the rewind which is very simple, .....only one screw holds it in place!

Turn the rewind over so you can push the white take up wheel for the cord, and it will feel springy.

They are too springy some times when out of the factory and the 120V contacts will not connect to the line voltage.

Once you have pushed the white wheel in but not too much, drill a small hole in the brown shaft and slide a cotter pin through.

Remember not to push the white take up wheel in too hard while drilling because it will be too tight and the rewind will stick when you try and push the cords take up button!!!!!!

I hope this helps as it is the fix we use and have not had one come back for the same problem again!

The red filter light will not reset after replacing the filter on my Miele S5980

Hi There, I actually did a repair on this problem only a couple of weeks ago. The problem could be that the small lever that pushes on the reset button on the circuit board is bent or broken. The little button costs about $10 from memory and certainly a whole lot cheaper than the board itself which is $234. Just to clarify in my case there was nothing wrong with the board, I was able to manually push the reset switch on the board and replace the tiny lever and problem was solved.

I have an old Miele canister vacuum and I do not know how to disassemble the hose to check for a clog. I think it sucked up a nerf ball the size of a ping pong ball. I changed the bag but it did isn't...

Hi Emily: If you have the model number for your machine you may be able to find your manual on the Miele website. Check here for older models Here for newer models.

In trying to isolate the clog it would be best to disassemble the wand and hose to more easily isolate the problem. If the problem is a ball it is quite likely lodged at the first elbow

Generally, to detach the suction hose from the canister press the release buttons at the sides of the elbow and lift the hose from the socket.

To release the handpiece from the wand, press the locking button and pull the handpiece away from the wand. Similarly if your unit has a floorbrush this can be detached by pressing the locking button and pulling the wand out of the floor brush.

You may need to insert a wire from the canister end to push out the clog or ball opposite to the direction it was sucked in.

If these directions are not helpful and you cannot locate the manual for your model, please reply with your model number as I may be able to locate it from other sources.

Thank you for using FixYa!

Popped the lid open to change vacuum cleaner bag...now lid won't close. It's stuck at 90 degree angle. Is a button to release it?

Hi bndennis,

Please check the spring on your lid, it may be keeping the door open. Miele vacuum cleaners mainly use a spring concept for keeping lids open - merely pushing it down will lock it at the bottom.

Kind Regards :-)

Power Problem

Hi There,

Unfortunately this is being caused by static electricity building up in the electronic controls in the handle of the hose. I've seen this problem on numerious occasions, and in fact I have the twin brother of the Blue Moon, or the Silver Moon which used the same hose, and has the same problems in my own home.

The good news is that Miele has redesigned the hoses to fix this, and I have never seen a single problem on the newer style hoses. I guess the bad news is that the hose is not cheap.

I would recommend to you to go ahead and purchase the new hose. The average life expectancy of your Miele is 20-25 years, so you still have a lot of life left in your vacuum.

Here's a link to the SES125 Hose that fits your Miele Blue Moon on our website:
http://www.govacuum.com/miele-165.html

To change the hoses out, simply push the two tabs on the end of the hose that plugs into the vacuum, and pull the hose backwards until it disconnects. You'll see on the end of the new hose electrical connectors. Simply line these up with the opposity receptacles on the canister and push the hose down until you hear a snapping noise.

I really hope that this information was helpful to you. If you have any follow up questions, or would like a clarification, please use the comment box on this page.

If this was able to help you fix your machine, please be so kind and rate my repair or leave me feedback. This is really appreciated.

Thanks again,

My Miele Silver Moon "Reset" light is blinking. What do I do?

Greetings from GoVacuum,

Ahh yes, the Silver Moon. One of Miele's best made vacuums ever! So good that out of all the different vacuums that I could of chose for my home, the Miele S558 Silver Moon was the one I chose.

When you're Reset button is flashing, this simply means that it's time to replace the HEPA filter on your vacuum cleaner. Miele included this feature on their upper end models to alert the user when their filter needed to be changed.

The Miele Silver Moon uses Genuine Miele S-Class HEPA Filter for S300i/S600i, and Miele S7 Uprights. Miele Part # 04854915 (replaces 04854911) Which can be purchased from GoVacuum for $52.95 with free shipping.

Once you have installed the new HEPA filter, simply press down on the flashing Reset button to restart the 50 hour internal timer inside. Miele recommends to replace this filter after every 50 hours of vacuuming.
