To short of flush

Take the top off the tank and look at the water height. Adjust the float valve to raise the water to the line on the back of the tank. There is usually a little screw.

If the tank is already high, try holding the flush lever down. Newer tanks are dual flush, which a short flush with a quick press and release (for having a wee), and a long flush holding the handle down for ... well you get the picture :>)

Fluidmaster Dual Flush Valve S2DBL won't flush.

Fluidmaster S2DBL Dual flush valve - would not flush
The dual flush wouldn't work at all. So I slid the lid off part B (lever mounting base) and found the ball end of flush cable was not in the mating hole on lever arm. With needle nose pliers I pulled and pushed the ball into the hole and slide lid back on till it snapped. Snapped B to C (handle) - problem solved!

Adjust the float on the Fluid-master a little higher if possible. This should allow more water to enter the bowl after the flush.

How do I get the lid off a stylus toilet cistem

Solution I received " lever up the two flushing buttons with a fine blade screwdriver.

They may be a push fit on two plastic posts. Once off, they reveal a screw between them. Release this to remove the cistern lid. Make a note of the position of the buttons as they only fit one way round."

Looking to buy/install Toto Aquia II in my circa 1964 co-op apt.

When you say 10.5 inches from wall, do you mean that from the center of the drain in the floor to the back wall is 10.5 inches? If so, you need a toilet for a "10 inch rough-in" dimension. The Aquia doesn't come in that dimension. Sorry!

Caroma Sydney Smart model 270 comes in a 10 inch rough-in and is a dual flush model. Note that all dual flush toilets are fairly expensive as compared to normal toilets. HOWEVER, genrally speaking, ALL 10 inch rough-in toilets are fairly expensive just because the low volume that are sold.
