Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook
My lap top was not charging so i thought it was a problem with the charger only to recognize later after i brought the charger to fix that the problem is actually the port. the guy i took it to says he cant do anything about it and that i should get a new one (lap top). as much as that sounds interesting it isnt to interesting for my pocket. plus i dont want to put my baby down just yet. Can anybody help me?
You should be able to find a local repair shop or person to fix it. Try craigslist.
I usually charge $75-100 to fix that problem, but you can go the diy approach for about $10 if you've got a decent soldering iron and 1-2 hours to kill.
It's not hard but it does take time and a steady hand. You could end up damaging the motherboard further...so be careful.
Check youtube and google for guides, I've never used a guide before myself because I'm cool like that but it might be a good idea to see it so you know what you're getting yourself into.
