Question about HP Compaq Presario 2223US Notebook

1 Answer

Computer comes on, shows a blue screen, and restarts on it's own.

When i turn my laptop on and put in my password the computer boots up and shows my desktop. After 10 seconds a blue screen pops up with a bunch of information and restarts on its own. It keeps doing this everytime I turn it on. Is my computer crashing or can I take several troubleshooting steps to fix the problem?

Try to boot into Safe Mode.

If you're able to, let me know and we'll go from there.

The laptop stays on for few minutes and then it turns itself off but before it does that, it shows a large blue scree and some large white text, the text flicks a little but fast to the point where I can...

First of all Turn of your laptop.
Now this time when you turn on your laptop start tapping F8 Key on you keyboard when you Toshiba logo. Tap F8 key for at least 5-6 times.
You will get a Windows Advance Option Menu. You will see lot of options over their written in white text. Your mouse will not work on this screen. Use UP and DOWN arrow keys on you keyboard and highlight Last known good configuration. Once highlighted press enter on it. See if you computer boots. If it boots try doing a restore.
If it doesn't boot.
Turn off your computer and then turn on your computer. On Toshiba Logo screen tap F8 key once again and go to windows advanced option menu screen once again and this time hightlight Disable automatic restart on system failure. Now when you see Blue screen coming up on your computer once again your computer won't restart. Now you can write down the information to trace out the blue screen that is occurring on your computer. Write down the Error code which will be in form of STOP 0x000000XX, you find this error code somewhere at the bottom of the blue screen.
Once you get the reply here, we will see what we can do.

In acer laptop i am getting blue screen error code is 0000000007

Try to restart the computer in Last known good configuration from the Advance boot options by restarting the computer using F8 key continuously.
If doesn't work then put in the Windows CD.
If Windows XP :
Restart the computer and keep tapping F12.
From boot menu highlight CD/DVD or IDE CD ROM or USB CD ROM.
Keep on pressing enter on it until get the screen loading files.
Then on the first Welcome page press "R"
If you have a dual-boot or multiboot system, select the installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console.
Enter the Admin password if dont have any password then leave blank and press enter.
Then type the command chkdsk drive /p /r
(drive is the partition on which windows is installed, C: or D:)
It will take around 30 to 45 mins to complete then restart the computer.

Try restarting into safe mode and using another computer (if one is available) to download Display Drivers for your laptop. These drivers should be available from the HP website free of charge. Copy these drivers to the CD or floppy (depending on which your laptop uses) and if you could boot up in safe mode, install the new drivers and restart the computer. To restart your computer in safe mode, the computer should say a F key (F1-F12) to press during the post to enter safe mode, or you could hold the power button down while windows is first booting to interrupt the boot, and the next time you power on the computer it should ask you if you want to start up in safe mode 'because Windows could not start normally'. If this does not work please respond again! Thank you.

Dell 1501 inspiron laptop blank screen

Hi,

Have you installed any application/program prior to the blue screen? Most blue screen causes your system not to boot to your operating system anymore. It is possible that your hard drive is crashed due to a virus infections or spywares. Incompatibility and corrupted system registry may affect your system to have blue screen as well.

You may try the following steps below.

1. Restart your computer. After you pressed the power button to restart. Keep on tapping F8 key on the keyboard on and off.

2. Boot advanced option will show up on the screen. You may boot your computer to the following option.

a. Last known good configuration
b. Safe mode with Networking.

If Safe mode w/networking works, restore your computer to an earlier using the system restore features.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

jeff
