Problem for Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX10 Digital Camera

I have a panasonic lumix fx10 and all of a sudden my viewfinder screen is completely black; therefore I am unable to take any pictures. The manual does not offer any insight to why the screen is black. Thanks for any help you can give me.

If ECONOMY is set to off in that case monitor (LCD) would be brightest, it should not be dark, it would be at lowest if you set it to LEVEL2. Monitor sub-menu in the setup menu gives you option to increase or decrease brightness of the monitor (LCD).
