Reset the player by holding the off-switch and the volume-+ (plus) switch., and as soon as the player shuts off, press and hold the volume- - (minus) switch. The computer will see the gogear as a removable hard-drive now.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My philps gogear audio player

The songs that you are attempting to put on the Go Gear have a non-supported license type. They are either iTunes format or DRM-protected WMA's that are not compatible with the GoGear. Acquire songs that are in Mp3 format, and you will not have this problem.

My gogear wont turn

Could be corrupt firmware:

Install and run Philips Device Manager from the product CD.

Press and hold [PLAY/PAUSE] on the player whilst connecting to the PC.

Follow the on-screen prompts.

This will format the player and replace the firmware.

Philps Mp3 Go Gear

You should be able to browse your player from My Computer.

From the player, go to Media -----> Pictures.

Failing that, put the player into service mode:

Connect the PC and power supply to the player.

Press and hold [VOL+] & [POWER] until the player resets and goes blank.

Release the buttons, and quickly press and hold [VOL-] until the computer recognises the player as a removable drive.

Browse the player from My Computer as you would any hard drive.

Drag and drop the files you want from the player.

Sounds like you'll need to reset the firmware. You can do this with a program called Philips GoGear HDD which will do this for you. It is available from Philp's website.
