Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook
Dtrack61 i'm having the same problem with my HP dv9000 laptop. My screen works just fine when running on battery. But when I plug it in to AC the display goes crazy, anf shuts on and off until it goes black then I sometime get a nv4_disp error (says driver is not working properly). Everything was working fine until I shipped it off to HP to have the left hinge repair. They repaired the left hinge but 4 days into getting my laptop back I started having this problem. I took me a week to find out that using AC power was causing me the problem. Did you ever get it fix or does anyone have any ideas.
It's either the motherboard or the power supply.
I'd start with testing the power supply. If you've got a multi-meter great. Just measure the voltage and see if it fluctuates.
If not, check with a local repair shop to see if they have a power adapter they could use to test with.
