Take off the bottom. Remove the screws from the hard drive caddy. Remove the cable from the hard drive. Reverse to install the new drive. Be very careful with the cable as they are very fragile.

External Monitor reads, Power saving mode on a Mac Book Pro. Monitor is a Dell ST2220L.

Make sure that the monitor is set to the correct input. On the Mac, got to displays and verify that the machine sees both screens.

Macbook superdrives have a bad reputation for failing, what I would do is take it to the genius bar at the local apple store and see what they say, if it is still under warranty they will replace it.

Have you tried installing the driver's from the cd that came with the printer? That is usually the first step.

I have at 2GHz Intel Core Duo laptop with 512MB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM No cds will read they go in and spin and then eject, the icon doesn't even register anywhere.

There is a problem with the DVD Superdrive.
I just had mine replaced under warranty.
