You will have to go to the Dell site and buy a replacement from them. Else go to tiger Direct or Newegg and hunt for one there, besides they are the cheapest and most reliable sites on line

MK850 Keyboard used on 2 Laptops, with a different mouse used on both

nice post, but no problems stated.
no issues or bad symptoms stated.
why not try it first then ask.? if there is a problem.?

it is not a DELL keyboard, it's made by Logitech (top brand)
if they are old,???? both need a new battery or it will not work.
inside mouse, inside keyboard, wireless needs a good battery.

NO PC stated, DELL. just DELL. dell what? it has model.
NO OS stated, of the 100s possible.
if windows, say that and the version for 10x better answers.
is the PC on the internet (connected) if yes windows plug and play will load drivers to your alien keyboard/mouse.
but not if XP, I bet. i bet that fails hard.
XP can not use newer devices, on USB, do to its dead state.
Same is true of VISTA, (it too is dead for new things added)

this thing from year 2000?

Having replaced batteries on a Dell mouse and keyboard, switched on keyboard and mouse not working. Dell support window says both connected? Cannot move mouse to acknowledge message saying that new device...

If the keyboard is working, try the "tab" key or a combination of the "tab" and "shift, ctl or alt" key.
You should be able to move the cursor to highlight to Ok message, then hit return.

Logitech wireless mouse not working. Tried changing batteries. No go. Tried different mouse inserted into USB (this worked) Anything else to do short of buying new one?

I was unable to find this product on the Logitech website to check for support information. I would suggest that you make sure that you install the proper software for these devices and also that you press the sync button (located under the wireless receiver) and also on the keyboard and mouse (doing one at a time).

Good Luck,

Jesse

I have dell Mouse/keyboard combo and the mouse died. Can I just replace that?

In short, Yes!

These things are stamped out by the millions and are not made in sets, when you sync them, they become a set. So you will need to re-sync the new combination, get the same model of mouse but yes, you can replace just the mouse.

Hope this helps,

Jim

Mouse does not work

doe the mouse have a little hole about the size of a pen head, push it until up see the device on the startup bar display found new device, check to see if it requires a battery, the the wire for any type of bend in the wire, the bent wire can either be broken or stretched out, shorted out from a brake in the wire.

check the port the device is plug into is working properly, than is not disablied, turn off by accendent by something or someone.

Dell Dimension 3100 e10 ...usb won't work

Does the system respond to boot keys (F2, F12) when the DELL logo appears? If so the problem is with Windows drivers and probably can be resolved by reinstalling or rolling back the drivers, but how? Do you have access to another keyboard? Does the system have PS/2 ports? Do you have access to a PS/2 keyboard or adapter? If boot keys work, you could also choose F8 for Last Known Good Config (XP) or System Restore (Vista).

Have you tried different ports (front if using back or visa-versa)?
Try using just keyboard or mouse to see if one has somehow shorted. Also check the ports for any sign of damage.

Wireless Dell mouse, wheel in middle, 2 buttons, black and silver.

First try to reinstall the updated driver for your mouse. If this does not work, it could be that the mouse is worn out and you may need to replace it...
