Hi,

yea, its a very common problem with Mousepad hardware.
But, it might be costly since, only 5% customers face this due to less cautiousness of handling mousepad.

But as the answer to your question, it is easily replaceable.

Get it replaced by an authorised servicemen.
Hope it helps.

Thanks.

Aspire 5100 mouse is frozen how to fix problem

Try restarting your computer by pushing the windows button on the bottom of the keyboard on the left side, generally next to the ALT button. use your arrow keys to move over to the shut down button, select restart and restart your computer. Or you can shut down and then push the power button to start up your computer. This should help reset your laptop and unfreeze your mouse.

If this does not work, go to the control panel, again using the windows button and the arrow keys. select mouse, then go thru the tabs on the window to make sure that your mouse pad is selected to control your mouse.

If you found this information helpful, please remember to leave positive feedback.

Thank You,

I think you have disabled them.
There should be a key to enable mouse and keypad.

Click button replacement?

The easiest way is going to be replacing the entire palmrest, the top of the laptop that holds the keyboard and power strip and covers the motherboard. They can be found on Ebay, I bought one for an 17" HP DV9000 for 16 bucks...just take it to a PC repair shop and have them throw it on for you. Only takes a half an hour.

On an Acer, the Fn key plus F7 will turn the touchpad on and off.
Try that to see if it works.

Touchpad on acer aspire 5100 series is locked

plug in a usb mouse, go to control panel>system>harware>device manager and click on the + sign next to pointing devices. Right click the touchpad and click on uninstall. Reboot the laptop and unplug the usb mouse. This should pick up the touchpad as new hardware and reinstall it. Hopefully this will resolve the problem.

You have to go through the Control Panel, double click the mouse icon and find the settings for what is actually called a Glide Pad and change any values from there.

Touchpad button loose

I shouldnt think that opening it up is necessary. The button should click back in with a gentle nudge. Else it is broken and needs to be replaced. If you can take it out completely and examine it you will know if it is broken.
