Question about HTC G1
Lately I been typing text messages or emails and suddenly the keyboard starts putting out gibberish. It's as if I hit the alt key by mistake (even though I know I didn't) and am getting secondary functions. For instance, the letter H puts out a series of random letters and symbols and the space bar puts out gibberish and opens the menu. Other times it works perfectly. Has anybody else experienced this problem?

Sounds like you have a waterdamaged keyboard. If you can't get a replacement under warranty
there is both an T-Mobile G1 Repair Guide and a third party T-Mobile G1
Repair Service, If you try a self-repair make sure you feel comfortable with
opening devices like that.
