Question about HP OfficeJet 7410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Gives error code Remove and check color cartridge! I have done this and cleaned the contacts,etc,etc,etc. with no results. I have tried #3 and #6 with NO results. I am not sure where or IF I can "reset" the unit. Any help appreciated.

I'll assume you have already worked through these instructions as well. Sometimes you can reset these printers by turning off both printer and computer, removing both power and data cables from the unit, waiting at least 5-10 minutes, and then reconnecting and rebooting your system. If you're using usb, you may have to follow specific instructions to reconnect the usb cable to your device.
If this doesn't work, review this link and make sure the cartridge latches are engaging properly, and check parts described in this link., and check the faceplate as described in this link.
I hope that helps. These machines can certainly be frustrating.

It's frustrating isn't it? I had the same problem and if I'm not mistaken, I was using a refilled ink cartridge and it wasn't until I blew the money out of my wallet to go purchase a new HP cartridge,is when it accepted the cartridge. Or maybe run a cleaning process and in the middle of it, unplug the printer and plug it back in. Maybe you can confuse it into accepting the cartridge. ???? Good luck!

Problem After you install a print cartridge, one of the following messages appears on the color graphics display:
  • Incorrect Print Cartridge
  • Incompatible Print Cartridge
  • Problem with the Print Cartridge
  • Remove and Check [color / black or photo] Cartridge
  • [Tri-color / Black or Photo] Print Cartridge Inserted Now is Not Intended for Use in This Printer

NOTE: In the procedures below, the "problem" cartridge is the one identified by the message on the color graphics display. If the message does not specify a cartridge, perform the procedures on both cartridges. Step 1: Remove, inspect, and reseat the problem cartridge The print cartridge may not have full electrical contact with the printer. Removing and reinstalling the cartridge may help.
NOTE: HP cannot guarantee the quality of remanufactured or refilled cartridges.
  1. Make sure the printer is on. Press the Power button if it is not lit.
  2. Open the printer cover, then wait until the print cartridge carriage is idle and silent.
  3. Press down lightly on the end of the problem cartridge to release it. Figure 1: Removing the tri-color cartridge
  4. Slide the cartridge out and inspect it:
    CAUTION: Do not touch the copper electrical contacts or the ink nozzles. Figure 2: Electrical contacts and nozzlesc00211537.gif 1 - Copper electrical contacts 2 - Nozzles
    • Check the electrical contacts for debris.
    • Make sure all the clear nozzle protective tape has been removed.
      CAUTION: Do not attempt to remove the copper electrical strip! Figure 3: Removing the clear nozzle protective tape
    • Look at the number on the print cartridge label and make sure it is compatible with your printer. Compatible print cartridges are listed in the Printer Reference Guide supplied with your printer.
  5. If the cartridge is compatible, reinstall it in the printer:
    • Cartridges marked with a triangle go into the left carriage slot.
    • Cartridges marked with a square or pentagon go into the right carriage slot.

Step 2: Clean the problem cartridge contacts
  1. Gather the following items to clean the cartridge and carriage:
    • Clean distilled water. Use bottled or filtered water if distilled water is not available. Tap water can contain contaminants that damage the cartridge.
    • Clean cotton swabs or any soft, lint-free material that will not stick to the cartridges (coffee filters work well).
    • Sheets of paper or a paper towel to rest the cartridge on during cleaning.
  2. Open the product cover and wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
  3. Remove the cartridge and place it on a piece of paper with the nozzle plate facing up.
    NOTE: Clean the contacts quickly so that the cartridge is not outside of the product for more than 30 minutes. If the cartridge is outside of the product for too long, the ink can dry and clog the nozzles.
  4. Unplug the product from the electrical outlet.
  5. Dip a swab in the clean water and squeeze it to remove most of the moisture. The swab should be only slightly damp.
  6. Clean the cartridge contacts.
    CAUTION: Do not touch the ink nozzles.
  7. Clean the contacts in the carriage, inside the product.
  8. Either let the cartridge sit for 10 minutes to allow the cleaned area to dry, or use a new swab to dry it.
  9. Reinstall the cartridge.
  10. Reconnect the product to the electrical outlet.
  11. Close the product cover.
Step 3: Repeat reseating and cleaning steps If the problem is not solved, repeat the reseating and cleaning procedures above.

Call HP if the cartridge is covered under warranty to replace the cartridge
or its time for a new printer

Lexmark P4350 AIO incorrectly identifies cartridges, will not allow printing


Hi,

Your printer is not able to recognize the cartridges.Please do the following:

  • Turn on the printer and remove both cartridges
  • Place both cartridges in front of you so that you can see the contact foil, with the nozzles facing downwards
  • With adhesive tape, cover the FOUR upper contact points on the far left contact column of both cartridges
  • Reinsert the two cartridges and close the cover
  • Open the cover again after 2 or 3 seconds
  • Wait until the printer gives you the cartridge carriage (If there seems to be a problem with either of the cartridges, ignore it)
  • Open the cover and remove the two cartridges
  • Place both cartridges in front of you so that you can see the contact foil, with the nozzles facing downwards
  • Remove the adhesive tape
  • Clean the contacts, reinsert the cartridges and close the cover..

I can't get the cartridge to insert properly. I keep getting a message to insert a cartridge. When I reinserted the old cartridge it worked but the new one gives me this message. Thanks for any help.


Check to see if the installed cartridge is the correct one for the printer. . If the cartridge is the proper part number, remove the ink cartridge and make sure all the packaging tape has been removed from the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge. Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again.
If the error continues, remove the cartridge again and clean the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge, and the contacts inside the printer, by following the instructions below:
1. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Locate the copper-colored circuitry strip on the back of the cartridge.
2. Wipe the copper-colored strip with the dry cloth. Use an upward motion, from the nozzle end to the top of the cartridge. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate. Wipe the contacts only once.
3. To clean the printer contacts, carefully look for fibers or contamination on the electrical contacts inside the carriage assembly, but do not wipe the printer contacts with any object. The contacts in the printer can be damaged if too much pressure is applied during a wiping process. Try to remove any visible attached debris within the carriage assembly by gently pulling the debris off with your fingers. If the carriage contacts show noticeable damage, contact to theCustomer Care Center listed in the printer's User's Guide.
Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again. If the error continues, the cartridge may need to be replaced.

Check Printer Light Keeps Flashing on C3180 PhotoSmart


No, you do not need 3 cartridges or anything like that. Some cartridges have chips. Yours do not. If the light keeps blinking it means that one of the electrical contacts on the cartridge has blown and now the printer doesn't recognize it. Try printing something, you will get a message "problem with color cartridge" or "color cartridge missing". That means that the printer doesn't recognize it. I suggest you buy a new one. Or, if you have an old one, try putting it in and see if the light still blinks.

1. remove the cartridge and check the cartridge no. is it supported or not

2. if its supported then clean the cartridge contact and carriage cartridge contact with clean cloth and then check

3 some time what happen if color carteidge sircuit is gone bad then also this issue is comming so please check with new pair of cartridge

The following error message appears on the color graphics display after you insert a cartridge: Remove and Check Print Cartridges . The printer will not print. The message does not specify which cartridge has caused the error. Solution This error message indicates that the printer cannot determine which cartridge is causing the error. Follow the steps below to solve the problem.
  1. Remove the color cartridge from the left stall (which has a blue latch) and refasten the latch. Leave the other cartridge in place.
  2. Close the printer, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then look at the LCD display.
    • If the LCD display reads Insert Color Cartridge in Left Stall , the color cartridge may be causing the problem. Follow the steps below:
      1. Clean the color cartridge contacts.
      2. Reinsert the color cartridge into the carriage and close the blue latch.
      3. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      4. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the color cartridge.
    OR
    • If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , follow the steps below:
      1. Reinsert the color cartridge.
      2. Remove the black or photo cartridge, depending on which one is installed in the right stall. The right stall has the gray latch. Be sure to refasten the latch on the empty stall.
      3. Clean the black or photo cartridge contacts.
      4. Reinsert the black or photo cartridge.
      5. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      6. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the black or photo cartridge.

  1. Remove and then reinsert the cartridge indicated in the error message.
  2. If the error is still displayed, clean the contacts.
    1. If the error message is Error. Remove and Check Black or Photo Cartridge , the following steps may help:
    1. Remove both cartridges, lower the latches, and close the printer access door.
    2. Turn off the unit by pressing the On button on the front panel. Wait for the printer to completely shut down.
    3. Turn the printer back on by pressing the On button.
    4. When the message display reads Insert Print Cartridges , open the access door and replace the cartridges.

    Officejet d135 - "Supply Expired" error message


    HP, in order to sell more ink, monitors the expiration date of the cartridges installed. Solution is either to buy a new unexpired cartridge from HP or to disable the date monitoring built in to the printer. This latter is done by removing the button cell located inside the D135 printer on the left hand side or by simply slipping a thin piece of plastic between button cell and metal contact. You will no longer have date function on printer, but it won't object to expired cartridges either.

    usually, the error is because it's not recognizing the cartridge. Check the contacts on the printer and clean w/ alcohol. Are you using recycled cartridges or filling it yourself?
