Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies
New Canon 980 all-in-one. Does anyone know how to reset the chip for compatible ink in cartridge?
Worked until ink cartridge needed replacement. I used recommended ink from a refill ink shop. Now it does not work.
I believe you have to press resume to get the non chipped carts to work.At this time there ar no resets available other than the resume.
You will void your warranty.
Call Canon and tell them the printer is not working and take advantage of your 1 year warranty and only use Canon inks from now on or until reset is available.
If you want you can mention that you USED non Canon ink.

With the original chip now
attached to the compatible cartridge (you may need double sided tape to
get the chip to stick well to the cartridge), and with the cartridge
now in the printer, Press and hold the Reset/OK Button for 5 seconds to
reset the chips.
