Question about Lexmark T644 Laser Printer

Open Question

Lexmark T644 2000 sheet high capacity feeder? the problem began when the high capacity feeder stopped feeding paper, but then the tray was not recognized or the base printer would say it was not attached. Also the tray would not raise or lower. I am thinking it could be either, 1- the option control card, 2-power supply, or 3- the auto-connector. What do you think?

SOURCE: HP Laserjet 1320 Paper feed malfunction

 take out the tray

if you look on the bottom of the machine there is a metal plate.

in the middle of the plate there is a bump

turn the tray upside down and look at the bottom, there is a small hole with a plastic lever. it is probably broken.

when the tray is slid into position the lever hits the bump and releases the lifting mechanism.

replace that part or the tray. I can get you a new tray e-mail me at

SOURCE: Lexmark E232 - Tray-1 Paper Problem

Have the same problem after 1,500 pages! This was Lexmark's solution (and it worked)...

Take the paperfeed tray out and you will see a red lever , press it
downwards and you will see the paperfeed rollers coming down , you need to
pull the rubber tyres off those rollers and place them inside out over
them and then try printing any document. Check the paper weight and
the paper type you need to use 20 pounds regular paper and try runnning a
can of compressed air inside the machine.
If rubber tyres on the paper feed rollers are totally worned out you
need to replace the feed rollers.

SOURCE: Printer won't stop jamming

sounds like your printer wants to form it's own three piece band(kidding here).

sounds like you rollers are dirty or have something on one or both of tires on a slippery road, these need to be clean and dry.

Hi, My Lexmark 2350 is not feeding paper through. It pulls on the right hand side but doesn't feed through and then says there's not paper in the tray. Any suggestions? Karla

Try to remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. Grab a flashlight and take a look into the feeder for any foreign objects that might have accidentally fallen into it. If none, unplug and replug your printer into your power source to reset it. If problem continues, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance. Thanks.

Paper feeder stuck

If the paper feeder stuck, do the following:
  1. Gently pull any jammed paper out from the output tray or sheet feeder.
  2. If paper is stuck inside, open the printer cover and remove the jammed paper, including any torn pieces. Then close the printer cover.
  3. If paper remains near the sheet feeder, press the paper feed roller lever inside the paper feeder to release the jammed paper, then carefully pull it out.
  4. Load the paper correctly.
  5. Press the cp_button_14.gif stop button to resume printing.
  • If the printer continues to jam or misfeed paper, and you are certain that there are no foreign objects lodged down inside the paper feed area, your printer may require service. Please call Epson technical support for further assistance.

Paper will not feed into the printer, not even if I help it.

Suggestion, but not the answer.... Mine has same problem. I have to feed 1 sheet at a time. If the sheet is too high or too low, it won't work. Put 1 sheet in feeder, then gently push it down until it's 3/4" below the top of the feeder tray. Any higher and it won't grab, any lower and get jam message. What a pain! Finally bought wife a new printer and use this one for 'playing' and faxes. Bob

    Fax double feeds sheets

    This may occur if:
-the paper is too thick or too thin
-the roller mechanism is not properly aligned or has worn out
-the sheets of paper stick together

    things you can try:
-unload the paper in the main tray and bend the stack of paper to loosen it up. Reload the paper to the main tray

    Hope this helps!

When I print on my Canon MP730, it always prints out a blank page after every print job. How can I fix this?

SOLUTION(S): Reset the Sheet Feeder Gears
If the power fails while the paper is feeding or during a print job, the paper feed gears will lose their proper
alignment. The reason is that after the power is restored the paper feed gears will attempt to return to the
home position, which may not be possible if the paper stop cam is not in the correct position.
    1. Remove the sheet feeder from the unit.
    2. Remove the sheet feeder motor from the sheet feeder assembly.
    3. Remove the drive gear from its spindle.
    4. Realign the lifting tray gear and paper stop cam gear.
    5. Reinstall the drive gear and sheet feeder motor.
    6. Reattach the sheet feeder to the print unit.
    7. Reassemble the unit.

I have a Lexmark X3550 printer There is a paper way down inside that cannot be reached Tried the automatic remove and it does nothing. What should I do?This machine is only a few months old.

Bending the bottom exit tray will allow it to be removed. Simply remove tray and wipe rollers right in front of the bar that the ink slides back and forth on. Most printers get a lttle dust on the rollers then they wont feed. Hope this Helps.Sincerely Brian @ Game-On Computers.
