New Motherboard I recently replaced the Motherboard and for the most part all is fine... however.. The front USB port, the external media drive bay and the memory card reader no longer work... If either the USB/media drive bay OR the memory card reader is plugged into the motherboard, computer will not boot up. Any suggestions?

Check that the 1394 usb header cable(red on end) is not plugged into a usb 2.0 standard port on m/board(yellow plug) 1394 will be red on the end. standard usb 2.0 will be yellow and external drive bay will be white. The key here is to pay close attention and use magnifying glass to verify on board which plug goes where even though 1 might fit in the other..Hope this helps and if not let me know~

Replace front usb

Replacing the stock mounted usb port, that would require you some screwing, but it depends on your system. You can try look at ebay for similar model of casing or other online store.

There are some external Usb port that can be mounted on 5" bay, or try any 8 in 1 external.

Usb ports not recognizing pen drive, external drive, ipods or iphones but 2 out of 3 usb ports will charge the ipod and iphone. please help!! I've tried unplugging, removing battery, device manager says...

Generally USB ports are part of the motherboard so you will not be able to replace just the USB ports. you can try to uninstall the USB controllers in device manager then reboot your computer. they should automatically get reinstalled. also try booting to safemode and check if it will recognize your USB devices.

*if you get a pop up for found new hardware when you plug in any of your USB devices then it would usually indicate that the hardware is working fine and the problem is with your OS

My computer is not recognizing my mp3player when i attach it to my laptop through its usb port

Two possible solution.
1. Some external USB device comes with external power supply. Please use it to increase the power to the USB device. They are normally about 5 volts.
2. Plug into the USB port on the motherboard rather than the front bay or through the USB hub, The reason is because the USB at the motherboard has more power.

Replacing a mcp61pm-hm nettle2 mobo in my hp forgot wire placemen

The little white plug sounds like the audio connector. Most usually you do not have to hook this wire up. The sata connection from the drive to the mobo should take care of everything. Most usually this plug in is for connection directly to a after market sound card. The little black plug coming from the media bay you speak of sounds like the front side usb connector. It may also include the front mic and headphone jack. Please check to see if the black plug actually attaches to the front of the pc near the power buttons.
