Check the following areas to address this issue.

1. Venting
Make sure the dryer vent hose, as well as the rest of the vent duct, is not clogged.

Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task.

2. Thermostat
There are a couple of cycling thermostats inside the dryer. If one of them breaks down, it might affect the dryer's performance. Replace the defective thermostat.

3. Heating element
A heating element might only be partially burned out, in which case it would still work but will take longer time to dry the clothes. Replace the element if found defective.

Takes turning on the drying cycle several times in order for the clothes to be dry.Is there a “best” setting to use?

A clothes dryer is as simple as heat and airflow just like a hair dryer. If you have heat then you are probably lacking airflow. Check that the vent is not crushed or pinched behind the dryer and also make sure the main line is not full of lint or anything else that could be blocking airflow. If this is beyond your skill, strength, or aggravation level then you can call a dryer vent cleaning company. Timed dry cycle is the old reliable setting and clothes should be dry between 30 and 50 minutes. The "best" cycle on a dryer is one that utilizes a moisture sensor bar and thermister to determine drying time without over drying the clothes. This will be found on cycles other than timed dry if your dryer has that feature. Always pay attention to the care labels on your clothing as they will tell you how to care for your clothing such as "tumble dry low temperature".

Kenmore elite dryer will not work on manual cycles which consist of three options; timed dry, express dry, and touch up. Dryer will work on auto cycles only

most likely the board is bad,the board is big money, just keep using it on auto, that's what you should be using anyway the dryer automatically stops when the clothes are dry,say you set your clothes for 60 minutes and they dry in 40,you're drying the clothes 20 more minutes that you didn't need,if you set it on auto the dryer sensor knows the clothes are dry and shuts it down when they are dry, this doesn't have a timer this has a computer board or it could be the touch pad not working correctly if it doesn't take commands but either part is expensive the board is like 200 and the touch pad is close to 300 bucks,i would use it on auto, one more thing to check is sometimes the ribbon or plug that connects the touch pad to the board could be loose or have some lint or something in it,i've just unplugged them and plugged them back in and then it works, also clean out all the lint out of the dryer and vent line, this is the number one cause of most problems in dryers and you won't have to worry about a dryer fire,if it's gas you should do this once a year yours is electric so you can wait like every 18 months with gas you have a flame in there so you don't want lint in or around the flame, clean out the duct that the lint filter slides down into and i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line just take it off the dryer stick the leaf blower int the line and blow it to the outside when you have the dryer running go back outside and make sure the air is blowing out good

Wrinkles clothes terribly. Solutions.

Check your settings on your dryer. See if it's on a longer duration of time to dry. Dryers have different wording depending upon the make and model. If you're trying to dry smaller loads the heat settings s
does not have to be set for very long. Heavier, loads with thicker clothing will need to dry a little longer. When you take the clothes out of the washing machine, do you shake the clothes before putting them in the dryer? And do you use dryer sheets? Believe it or not, they're not only used to help make your clothe's smell fresh but they also help elevate static and a few wrinkles.

My Bosch dryer never seems to get very warm. It's an Axxis. I've only washed about 10 loads. It seems to take a long time, and when I take the clothes out, they are cool to the touch. Even when I touch the...

Hi,

There are a few possibilities here:

1. Washer/dryers generally take longer to dry clothes than a stand-alone dryer so if you previously had a stand-alone and are now using a combi, this could be the reason.
2. There are usually at least 2 heat settings on a dryer, so maybe you have it on a cool setting?
3. The last part of a drying cycle (5-10 minutes) is usually cool - even when on a high setting. This helps to reduce creasing and cools metal parts such as zips and buckles for saftey. This could explain why everything feels cool when you remove the clothes.

It's possible your old dryer didn't have the cool final setting and/or it was higher power than your new Bosch and therefore dried the clothes quicker.

If your new machine is taking an eternity and your clothes still aren't properly dry, then there may be a fault with your dryer thermostat which is switching the heating coil/element off at too low a temperature. However, I suspect your problem is related to information I've written above.

It would help to know whether you have an Axxis washer/dryer or just a dryer. If the information above doesn't help you to solve your problem, please post back with details of your machine, including the model number, if possible.

Regards,
BElectric.

AUTO CYCLE TAKES A VERY LONG TIME, HEAT IS OK, GAS DRYER

First thing I would check is the vent. If you have good heat but it is still taking too long, usually it is caused by a vent that is either too long , kinked or clogged. if the dryer is auto dry and not electronic dry then you will need to gauge weather the load needs more or less dry. If it is just taking a long time for the clothes to dry, more than likely the vent. If the clothes are dry before it is done running then it is more than likely a setting issue. Way out of the box .... are your clothes spinning out dry enough in your washer? do they dry in the normal time on timed dry?

Amana model LGA30AW automatic setting doesn't shut the dryer off

You can make adjustments to your Automatic Cycles by adjusting the Factory Dryness Level:
Changing the Automatic Cycle settings to increase or decrease drying time:
If all your loads on all Automatic Cycles are consistently less dry or more dry than you would like, you may change the default settings to increase or decrease the default dryness
level.

Your automatic drying settings can be adjusted to adapt to different installations, environmental conditions, or personal preference. This change is retained and will affect all of your
Automatic Cycles, not just the current cycle/load. There are 5 drying settings, which are displayed using the time display:
0 Much wetter clothes, 30% less drying time.
1 Slightly wetter clothes, 15% less drying time.
2 Factory preset dryness level.
3 Slightly drier clothes, 15% more drying time.
4 Much drier clothes, 30% more drying time.
TO CHANGE THE DRYING SETTINGS: NOTE: The settings cannot be changed while the dryer is running or paused. The dryer must be in standby mode (power is off) to adjust the default settings.
  1. Before starting a cycle, touch and hold DRYNESS for 6 seconds.
  2. Touch DRYNESS to select the dryness level shown in the time display: 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4.
  3. Touch START/PAUSE to save the new dryness level setting.

It takes a long time to dry a load of clothes

sounds as if you may have an issue with a blocked/clogged ventin, perhaps wher it leaves the home, a unit that is not able to expell the heat will tend to not dry the clothes properly, 2-3x to dry a good sign of venting issue
