Question about Sony DAV-SC5 System
i have sony dav-sc5 home theatre system. last week system failed due to lightning strike in our area.i check the power supply and found the fuse blowned out.i replaced it and again it's blowned. i traced the circuit ,and found + and - getting short after the rectifier bridge. there are three components across the supply. two capacitors are there and that is good, and one power ic with 5 pins [may power splitter or regulater] in that pin 2,3 are getting shorted.when i desoldered the pin 2 , then it is ok. still i am not replacing the ic . i want to confirm that the problem i identified is correct?
It is power regulator ic and must be changed.
you must check around ic pins for short capacitor or burnt resistor to complete your job
