Question about Sony DVMC DA2 (DVM-CDA2)

1 Answer

Audio sync I use an old Mac G4 with the DVMC DA2. It's great for concerting analog to digital. The only problem is if I edit then tranfer back to a DVD or some other  outside unit the sound is a fraction of a second behind the video. Just enough to drive you insane. Any suggestions?

Re: audio sync

Try to get a new laptop or DVMC DA2 or just take them to the repair shop. Hope this helped. =)

connect box to Mac via FireWire

The connection would be, analog into device, firewire to computer. Play the analog device and import into iMovie, Final Cut or other editor. They should see the signal and therefore import to a digital file. Check with System Profiler to see if it sees the firewire device. If your software allows playing to the firewire device, the ADVC300, then you can record to those analog devices.

Have Problems with getting Channels?

You've not given us the manufacturer, make and model number, but I see 3 analog inputs on the left and the usb on the right. This tells me the analog audio and video signals must come from a dvd or vcr or tv-tuner. You say getting channels, so I'm assuming you've not hooked up to a digital ready tv hooked to cable or dish or digital converter. THERE ARE NO MORE ANALOG SIGNAL CHANNELS ANYMORE. Everything went digital in June 2009. So there you have it. If you don't have usable information going in, you can't get it out. try it with sterio audio and video from a digital tv that is receiving channels, and I think you'd then see sterio and video out of your pc. Tuning to pick up sky feed

Sounds like from discription the sky feed is set up for analog channel 6. With my TV-HVR-1600 card, there is an option in the wintv application when you click the menu button in the application that says channel suite. If you select this option, you should find and option for analog source. Select analog source in this screen and you should be able to manually add channel 6 in the box at the top of the analog souce screen. Also if you have the sky feed connected and you you click the scan button on this screen, it should detect automatically is the sky feed is on.

Cant capture video

Not having camcorder control is normal, as the ADVC110 doesn't translate DV (AV/C) control to anything else. It just accepts and replies to deck control commands so the capture application doesn't get stuck waiting for a response.

First off, make sure you only have the ADVC110, your VCR, and your computer connected. No other Firewire devices.

Be sure your have the output from your VCR connected to the ADVC's input. Connect your VCR's output to your TV. You should see in iMovie the same image you see on your TV, slightly delayed.

Need Adaptor connect DJ Tech Turntable to Sony Mini Hi Fi MHCRG495

The USB turntable is likely a USB data connection and not a USB audio connection, so you will need to take the audio output from your Mac G4 to your Sony Mini Hi Fi...

You will likely need a stereo mini-plug (3.5mm or 1/8-inch) to stereo RCA plug cable (red and white RCA plugs). This is often referred to as a "stereo Y-cable."
