Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

Clicking Fridge I have a 3 to 4 year old Kenmore fridge. To date there doesn't seem to be any problem with the fridge working properly; everything stays cold in the fridge and frozen in the freezer. However, over the last couple of weeks we have noticed that it has been making a clicking noise. Every few minutes it sounds like it's clicking on and then right after it clicks right back off. It does this quite frequently and occasionally it makes a bit of a thud noise. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The clicking noise does not go away if I turn to minimum the two knobs to ajust the temperature. No solution?

I have a GE Profile Arctica PSS29MG, I'm also getting a clicking noise, 4 to 10 clicks every 5 or 10 min. The noise is coming from the back right corner, behind the water filter. Every thing seems to be working.

I used to have a whirlpool fridge, they are the ones who make kenmore too. It used to make a loud thud noise. It was the compressor turning off. sometimes it was loud enough to wake me up at night. It did this for years and I never had any problems with it. when I purchased a larger fridge I sold it to a friend and its still working today. If you can tolerate the noise I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts giving you trouble.

Idesit built in fridge, compressor running, fridge doesn't seem to be cold although there is a build up of ice on back wall, happened a couple of times , if i defrost works fine for a while then back...

simple thing first make sure the door is sealing properly, unlikely to be this.

push the back wall of fridge with your hand, it should be solid.
if it is spongey it means the insulation has broken down and you need a new fridge

if not the back wall more than likely a blockage in the system, you will need a pot man out to check the system.

if this is the case and your fridge is over 5 years old dont waste money on repairing, buy a new fridge. if under 5 years def contact indesit company

Our 3 year old Kenmore refrigerator is not cooling. What could be the problem? (The freezer is working.)

check the fan that runs from the freezer to the fridge that it is running and not blocked or stuck if needed service the fan or replace if not repairable---if fan good than check fan duct that damper is operating properly the fridge uses the air from the freezer to cool it down

Magic chef bar fridge

Have the same problem with my 3 year old bar fridge. I could hear a clicking sound like it was trying to come on. Unplugged it and bought a new one. I figure the cost to repair a $100 bar fridge may not be worth it. They will charge you to come out and then charge you for the parts. For a little over $100 I bought a new one.
On the new fridge, the freezer gets colder than the fridge part..but luckily for me, it is still under warranty (Manufacturer's). I'll call for a look see-who knows maybe that guy can tell me what's wrong with the other one, too. ;-)
