Question about Princeton Digital VL193 19 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Replaced 15'' LCD with 19'' VL193. Can't recover from standy.

Replaced 15'' LCD with Princeton Graphics Ststems 19'' VL193.. When Monitor is turned off by program, it can't recover, so I have to recycle power by unplugging from wall power source because power switch is not operative. When I do get the monitor back u, then power switch works OK.
I now have it set up to 'never' on power monitor control.
My system is a DELL 4600 with standard video.
I tried to find the pertinent driver, but couldn't find one.

Did you try this monitor with another PC and already verify that the VGA cable is OK.
Common problem with Princeton monitors are due to bad DC filter capacitors in the power supply board, see example here:

Hi

Desktop PCs automatically seek an external monitor to output graphics to. Laptops default settings send the image to the internal monitor. You need to manually instruct the laptop to export the image to an external monitor.

With the cable connected and the monitor powered up, try pressing the Fn key (bottom left of keyboard) on the laptop and simultaneously pressing the function key at the top ofthe keyboard with an image of 2 monitors (often F5 or F6) to sent d the image to the external screen.

I hope this helps.

Monitor is erratic in operation - Power supply issue. Sooner or later the anomaly will become permanent and it will not power on. Just be ready for the eventuality.

Depending on which version of windows you have the directions may be slightly different but in the display settings check to see if it is set to extend the display or to duplicate the display both do very different things. Hopefully adjusting this will correct your issue.

I have the princeton VL193 monitor. Its blank, no power light

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed Princeton monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

No display, clipping sound appear

The clipping sound is the internal safety switch that keep shutting down the monitor.
It means there is an internal problem on the main board (overvoltage, bad component , short).
Try unplugging power cord and leaving it unplugged two or three hours, this will reset ICs by draining power completely from circuits, it is called hard reset, it rarely works.
CRT monitors waste up to 15 times more energy than TFT screen, if your CRT starts giving troubles, then it is a good time for upgrading it to a new TFT.

Stuck in power save mode

Have you have selected the input you are using? You can switch between analog and digital input. The monitor would stay in power save if the input other than the one you are using is selected.
I believe the default input is DVI. Are you using VGA?
In the menu, under advanced, you can select the input.
