Are you sure is not 5 flashes with a short pause in between and then 5 more flashes? Code 55 indicates the end if the diagnosis.

It will flash then pause between second number of 2 digit code. Then a short pause and flash again, pause, then flash. For example: if it flashes 2 times, then pause, then flashes 2 more times, that would be code 22. If it flashes 3 times, pause, then flashes 5 more times, that would be code 35. first what year it may be obd1 system roll key on and off 3 times if it is obd1 it will start flashing first code will be 1 flash then 2 quick flashes this is code 12 thta means computer is reading codes then just start counting flashes they will be intermitant ie 1 flash then 3 quick flashes means 13 and so on when you get to the end of codes it will flash 5 quick then 5 quick again that is the end of your codes

This is a motor problem the end light flashing 5 times indicates error E50. The motor has either got wet or has just failed i would suggest trying to dry it 1st but i would suspect the motor has gone down to earth usually having to replace it. The part no. DST1246179079 Motor aprox £195 but shop around you may find it cheeper.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean(ref manual). There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.
