When I press both volume buttons at the same time to mute, all I hear is where the battery level is and it doesn't mute. Anyone have the same problem or am I just doing it wrong?

What happens in a call may be different then when you aren't in a call when pushing the buttons. Try it again when you are in a call.

SOURCE: I have a Motorola H681 that used to work fine, now

I was having the same problem - I ended up just playing with it until it worked again. I found instructions on muting the H700, which is to tap both volume buttons at once. I did that a few times while on a call (I was actually listening to my voicemail), and then I hit the volume up button, and now it works. Not sure if something is loose inside and all I had to to was play around to get it back into place?
