Question about Samsung Televison & Video
It seems my plasma tv power supply is knackered. The tv wont turn on but makes a strange click whenever I unplug it. Does anyone know how I can replace this myself. Its out of warranty and the tv repair guys say £200 for the fix!!! Its only 18months old, a 42inch Samsung plasma PS42q96HDX/XEU. Any help much appreciated.
Not sure but mine is doing the same. and also about 18months old? did you get a solution to this?

One answer guys its the Capacitors ont he motherboard. To fix yu will require 1 trsuty Soldering Iron , Solder and the right replacement capacitors(you can get any of these on Ebay cheap as chips). To Detect a faulty cap and you feel confident you can tackle this, will need to take the back off the board, the main board is where the power supply is plugged in. Look at all the capacitors on the board and the Raised bed, white flux or black flux is a sign of a blown cap. PLease note the black marks are not a feltip pen, these are the acid leaked from teh faulty cap itself, hope that helps.
