The W1907 goes blank when i turned the monitor off and then on

Okay it's like this. The monitor is fine before i switched it off. When i turn it on again, the desktop shows for about a second and then the screen goes blank. This happen when i am using the monitor continuously for hours and switching it off for a moment, say, by accident and had to turn it on again. If i turn it off for a long time (and i assume because the monitor has cooled off significantly) it works fine. When the screen goes off, the speaker is still working, if i happen to turn on my media player. It's just the screen that isnt.

I would say don't turn off the monitor at the switch at all unless you are not going to use it for a long time. I just leave mine switched on and the power save blanks the screen if I am away from it for 20 minutes. I leave my PC switched on all the time as well. If I need to use it for any reason it takes ages for it to start up fully so it's more convenient to just leave it all going so it's ready when I need it. If away from the PC for a day or more switch it off but I keep going back to it all day and night so it's easier for me to leave both on all the time.

HP w1907 LCD Monitor goes to sleep by displaying a "monitor is going to sleep"error after turning on the computer and doesnt display anything. It works intermittently, in that, if the computer has been...

so if you test the monitor on a known good PC it does what?
fails, then its the monitor
works then its the failing PC

all old HP monitors pre 2010 many had a sleep timer
so push the menu key on the monitor
then look for sleep timer and turn it off,
the monitor defaults to that mode, so dont push reset monitor or bam back to sleep mode it goes. so turn it off again.
all this is in the manual, lost yours, wana read it first?

read page 4.7 see that? (osd +advanced +) power saver OFF

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/418165/Hp-W1907-19-Lcd-Monitor.html?page=25#manual

if that fails to fix it (tested on 2 PC ) the PC1 is bad.

Monitor will come on, monitor status box will come on and then screen goes blank. How can I fix this?

rwhite97, If your pc is working fine with substitute monitor, and w1907 lcd unit does same (black screen, or blanknblack screen) when connected to a "known good" pc, then you should visit and read some stuff at this 2005 blog. http://www.lesliewong.us/blog/2005/05/02/hp-pavilion-f1703-flat-panel-display-blackout-solution/ Then learn the flashlight test and what it means. Then go to YOUTUBE for video clips on lcd monitor disassembly and lcd monitor repair if you are into do-it-yourself repair. Remember this!!! Your w1907 unit uses the same basic design and operation principles that ALL brands of ccfl back-lit lcd monitors use. Good luck with the repair. Come back here and leave comment after doing your research/investigation and then rate this response. 12fixlouie

I have an hp w1907 monitor i start up puter and after about 15 miniuts the monitor goes black i turn the monitor off and about 5 minutes later i turn it back on and works fine for about another 15 minutes

You could have a faulty inverter board. The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp/s, these lamps are mini fluro tubes approx 1,5mm dia. and the length of the screen.
Check the inverter output/inverter board and you maybe able to get parts from

Blank HP w1907

If the power light does not turn color and stay's green on startup, it is not a power problem. It is most likely the inverter. If the unit is in warranty, send it out ASAP. Contact HP customer care by email and have the issue logged in.
If in warranty, they will send you a box by FedX second day and have repaired.
This is a 19" monitor and will not be worth paying for repairs if not in warranty.

I turn my monitor on and it lights up then goes blank.

sounds like you have a backlight problem, the wires are known to burn off the ends of the bulbs of the back light..if you try to repair it yourself be careful the lcd screen and bulbs are frigile.. there is 4 bulbs two on the top and two on the bottom of the screen ,, keep every thing in order when taking apart
