I purchased a Buffalo WZR2-G300N router and succesfully connected it to my PC via a LAN cable and ISP router in order to access the internet. However, when I tried to connect wirelessly to another PC in an adjacent room 20 feet away (using a buffalo client), I found that the PC could detect the wireless network but the signal was very weak....only 1 bar strength. When I clicked on the "connect" button, the application tried to connect but then gave an error message saying that the signal may be out of range!!

I re-tested with my laptop and found that it could only detect the wireless router provided the laptop was only about 10 feet away from the wireless router. I had upgraded from my "Netgear" router to the Buffalo router because the retailer had told me that this router could be used over longer distances. In fact, it turned out very much the opposite. I tried upgrading the firmware but it seems that teh driver that i have is the most rexcent one...i.e. version 1.00_1.26. Any ideas on what to do next?

Sometimes the router works, most of the time - it does not work. The lights are on, but no one is home.

I'm having the same problem. My laptop shows I should have full access but I can't connect to the internet at all. This has been going on for 2 months now and it's extremely frustrating.

I initially had some problems connecting wirelessly. I wound up having to change the channe numbers that the wireless signal was using. I used Network Stumbler to provide an analysis of the what channels were in use near my home

If u are trying to go online with hardwired connection, you can try chaning the ethernet port or cables. If you are trying to go online wireless, then try to login to the router and then reconfigure the wireless part of it

Why cant i access wireless in my home or download

Can you verify if other devices can have access to the internet in your home? If you can access wifi connection elsewhere, then most likely your wireless router is not configured. You didn't specify if it ever has been. Router needs to receive the internet signal from outside the house and make it available through radio. Depending on the make and model of your router, you would need a hard-wire connection between your PC and the router. Then you need to configure it, assign a wifi name, security type and password for it. Write it down on a sticky label and stick it under the router because eventually this info gets forgotten.

I have windows 7 home prem and cannot connect says detects strong signal but limited access

Most likely, the access point is not connected to an internet gateway whatever that is at your place.
and since access points does not provide DHCP service by default (handing out IP information to connected clients), you get the limited access message.
In short, make sure the access point is connected to the router because the router is the once responsible for providing the DHCP service.

Toshiba equium A210-17i wireles problems

It doesnt sound like a problem with you laptop, rather its most likely to be the router.
People can edit the settings so that only their IP adress can connect.
If you can connect with limited connectivity, again its the router, not connecting properly.
Can you connect to any router? i take it you're not connection to your own XD
