I got a RCA RTD 315 basically same model, i turned it on only plugged
in a couple speakers just to test it out a little while later it
sparked and turned off. amazingly it still worked. I connected all of
the speakers, now one speaker is really low volume, it look like it blew
an amplifiier maybe because no load was connected so it built up to much charge. any ideas?

I have had my system since 11/23/07 and on 6/12/08 it began malfunctioning. It is on standby but won't turn on, and I can't find an active number for customer service.
The exact same problem here. Taking this thing back to Wal Mart tomorrow, too.

Just bought the RCA Rtd 215 today and the mute comes on by itself. Remote doesn't work and only way to shut off player was by unplugging it. Going back to WalMart tomorrow!

I could only get surround sound for DVD, NOT cable/TV--regular audio jacks only give stereo for cable/tv, NOT surround sound. Very disappointing. Any thoughts/solutions for how to get surround sound? Cable box has digital output, but no input on the rtd 315, any help available? THX

I think it is too late to take mine back to Wal-mart and I have everything setup (hidden wires and all that) If I play a DVD, better get it the way I want in the first 15 minutes cause after that, the remote stops responding, PERIOD. Turn off and back on manually. Wished I would have played a DVD a lot sooner than after 90 days. I can't even figure out how to get it to work with the TV. I do love the way I can hook up my I-POD to it and the surround sound works great.
I did contact RCA (whoever) support and they said they sold out the contract for support and to call some other number. GREAT!!!
