Sounds like your electronic ignition has gone bad. Usually when they start going bad you can let the engine cool and it will restart. In your case, apparantly it gave no warning. Check it by unscrewing the spark plug, leave the lead wire hooked to it, placing the spark end of the plug against the head. Try to turn the engine over and see if there is any spark jumping from the end of the plug to the metal. If not, it's the electronic ignition. But be sure the plug you are using is good.

Why doesn't it start?

Might be a full tank of wet gas from over-winter condensation.

Troy bilt pony riding mower

spray some carburetor cleaner in the intake and try to start it if it starts for a few seconds the carburetor is dirty and needs cleaned. put a new needle in it they are cheap and will solve your problem. take the spark plug out and try to start it. if it spins over freely and blows gas out the hole it is the needle in the carburetor. you may want to check the valves, they may be out of adjustment causing hard starting.

My Troy-built Bronco riding mower gets gas to the carb, but there doesn't appear to be any getting to the spark plug. Any suggestions?

there is a solenoid on the bottom of the carb you need to see if your getting power to the connector if you have power the solenoid is stuck if not there is a safety switch on the clutch/brake pedal that goes bad

Troy built lawn mower (riding) won't go full

I did not know riding mower had a gas pedal. I know if you leave the throttle control up all the way the engine will choke out. The pedal you are pushing, I think, is the forward/reverse hydrostatic transmission. You may need a new drive belt. The one you have now may be stretched out.
Good Day.

My troy built rider will not turn over at all. Battery has been tested and plug has been changed. Nothing at all

Check the inline fuse coming off the battery side of the solenoid. If that's good, check that there is power to the wire that plugs into the bottom of the solenoid when you turn the key to start (with the brake locked down). If there is, the solenoid needs to be replaced. That's probably as far as you'll have to go.
