Removing the door gasket would probably reveal screws to separate both shells of the door - warning: door gaskets are expensive and may be hard to find on a fridge that old, so be gentle with it.

The water line in the door is frozen . Several ways to thaw . 1 ) turn on the dispensor light for a few daws until thawed , 2 ) raise the freezer temp a few days until thawed , 3 ) use compressed air to the bottom of the door on the line , to blow out the ice , 4 ) order the GE dispensor heater pt. # WR49X10173 , it comes with installation instructions .

No water from door. I've taken the water line loose from the siloniod water will flow when activated. but will not come out at the door.

At the bottom of the freezer door ( remove the kick plate ) , there will be a water line . Follow this line , about 6 " to a connector . Push in on the white ring and pull out the line , at the same time . Activate the water dispensor pad and see if water flows from the line under the refrig . If it does , then the line in the door is frozen . Either raise the freezer temp for several days , so the line in the door will thaw , or , I have heard using an air tank will blow the ice out of the line in the door . If no water comes from the line under the refrig , while activating the pad , then , the water tank inside the refrig section , behind the crispers , is frozen . If the door line is frozen , pt # WR49X10173 , is a dispensor heater kit , with instruction , to keep the door line thawed .

When i place my cup into the ice dispenser it won't shut off. just keeps spitting out ice for minutes.

Sounds like the actuator switch has moisture in it .
1 ) remove the top hinge cover from the freezer door and disconnect the plug there . This removes power to the door .
2 ) Use a small screwdriver under the dispensor control panel , and
pry outward , to remove the panel .
3) Disconnect the 3 plugs to the panel .
4) Remove the 4 screws holding the white dispensor cover on , and
remove the cover .
5) Push in on the cover arm , and you will see the switch which is
activated by the arm . Replace this switch .
6) With this cover off , look in the dispensor area , and make sure the
door flap snaps closed completely . If not , then this is where the
moisture is comming from , and the solenoid at the top right , is
probably rusted , and needs to be replaced .
re-installation is in reverse .

No water

MORE LIKELY TO BE BLOCKED OR A KINKED PIPE AT BASE OF DOOR, WHEN YOU ACTIVATE THE VALVE THE WATER FLOWS STRAIGHTOUT OF THE DISPENSOR SO THE MUST BE A PROBLEM IN THE DOOR AREA. REGARDS DVISOR
