That error code is for the "open oven sensor". You probably just need a new sensor.

SOURCE: my range electrodes keep firing

If you cleaned it with soap and water or a household cleaning solution, some of it has probably gotten down to one of the switches that control the surface ignitors. Very common problem. Leave it unplugged when you are not using it and they will dry out and return to normal. You can pull the knobs off and try using a hair dryer, it may help a little, but it basicly is just a matter of time.
There are different variations of this model. If you will post the complete model number I can probably tell you how to remove the top, but there usually is little reason to take it off unless something needs repairing.
Thanks/Mike

SOURCE: How to replace inside glass on KitchenAid KERC608 Type 30P Range

Open the door fully and with a small screw driver, look closely at the hinge area on the oven cavity. There you will see a small lever that will rotate down and lock the door in place. Once in the lock position, begin closing door, you will feel the door 'catch' then lift the door off of the oven.

How do I remove the top on a Kitchenaid Superba (KGST307GWHO) slide in range? I need to access the igniter electrode that seems to be shot.

Hello Barry;

My name is peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

Are you sure that it is the ignitor? It could be the ignitor spark module located behind the gas burner nob.

To determine which one is bad and save money, replace these components with good components on your range that are working.

Go into the following websites. In the sears website plug in you model number to get diagrams and part numbers. Search the internet for less expensive part cost.

Kenmore gas range when no clicking when turning the oven on

Get FREE Standard Shipping on orders of $100 or more. Details
Range: Gas burner won't spark or ignite A surface burner igniter switch and a spark module activate the spark electrode when a burner is turned to the "Lite" position on a gas range's cooktop. If the surface burner switch, spark module or wiring in that circuit fails, the spark electrode won't work, and as a result the gas burner won't light. If those components work but the electrode won't spark, the problem could be that the spark electrode is coated with spilled food of is bent or broken. In addition, the electrode won't spark or ignite the burner properly if the ceramic insulation sleeve below the tip of the electrode is cracked or broken. If the gas burner isn't lighting, these repairs may help.

Replace the spark igniter electrode

1396454293470.jpg The spark igniter electrode-also called the surface burner igniter-is an insulated electrode that provides an ignition spark to light a surface gas burner. It sparks and makes a ticking sound when the burner switch is turned to the Lite position. Replace the surface spark module

When a surface burner control knob is turned to the "Lite" position, it provides voltage to the spark electrodes on the gas surface burners. If the surface spark module fails to provide the electrodes with voltage, then it should be replaced. Find This Part

Replace the spark igniter switch

1396454315355.jpg The igniter switch is an electrical switch on the stem of the gas surface burner control valve. This switch completes a circuit to the surface burner spark module, causing the burner igniters to spark when the burner switch is turned to the Lite position. Replace the burner igniter switch if the burners don't spark when you turn the burner control knob to the Lite position or if igniters spark constantly even when the burner knobs are in the Off position.

Igniter electrode does not light burner

As the igniters age from repeated use, they can become weak and no longer function properly. Just because they glow or spark, does not necessarily mean they are good. If you are experiencing ignition problems, the following link explains a little theory about how these igniters work and how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575727-replacing_an_oven_igniter_on_a_gas_range

The burner manifolds in the oven each use a glow bar or electrode type igniter with a gas safety valve to ignite. Both oven manifolds are controlled by the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board, which is your clock/timer on the control panel. If the surface burners work, but the oven does not, the problem is usually not a gas related issue. If the broiler is still working, more than likely, this is not a control board issue. Check the igniter connections to ensure you don't have any broken wires, first. Make sure you UNPLUG the range before servicing.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between these sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also offer helpful exploded view diagrams to help you locate and properly identify the parts you need. If the model number you have listred is correct, the bake burner igniter part number is 8191123.

If you have any questions please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

I'm looking at a KitchenAide KDDT207B duel-fuel used stove to purchase used from a private party I don't know. Are there reliability concerns?

I have this same oven. It began to intermittently fail when using the oven. The error code suggested it was a problem with the keypad. I suspected it was because the electronics was overheating. The electronics for this model is approximately underneath the right front gas top range. What I found was that the failure occured when both the oven and the right front gas range were being used simultaneously. This caused overheating since the electronics has not fan in this model and the heat radiating down from the pan above the gas range is added to the heat coming from the oven below. The electronics is sandwiched between these two heat sources.
