Transcend 1 GB removeable Pen drive is not detected

The Pen drive is detected in PC but no data is shown. Not able to open the files in the folders as it is shown that data used is 0 bytes and  available is 0 bytes.
Please solve

    I have a 1GB Transcend pen drive which is not detected by the any computer having winXP operating system and also I have a 1GB Sony pendrive which is detected but can not open.

    i have saved data in the pen drive but when i disconnect it and connect it again to my system it shows no data in the folders, however when i check the properties it shows that the data is there.

    hi i have a transcend 1 gb pen drive whenever i plug it on my computer
    it get hangs,i have to reboot the system directly & other usb drives work properly

    My 1GB Transcend pen drive shows in My Computer as "removeable disk (G:)" but I have failed to open it. I have tried in many different computer and many versions of Windows and Linux also. There are no problems in my USB drive and computer. Please help me.

    When inserted the 2GB transend Pendrive and clicked on it, then E: drive (hard disk drive) is opened. So when I explore it pend drive is opened. And i removed the auotrun.ini file (may be virus) and try to reopen it. but the same above apperars. So i try to format, it display "device is in use"(some thing like that) nad not formated. So i tried with command promt, then it asks to dismount it (Y/N) and i have typed y. then it shows it format is RAW . And after that not showing any data or size is 0 bytes and not formatting. Then What to do now.

The pen driver is ifected with virus.Just format it with CMD and ur problem will be solved

Its most likely that the device is dead and the data is not recoverable, no software will work as it does not show as a drive. You could send it to a data recovery expert like LC Technology, they helped me on a similar issue.

I have solved this problem by reinstalling windows.
Friends don't waste your time just format windows & your problem will be definitely solved.

Dinu1988, I don't believe that reinstalling windows will solved the problems. My pendrive cannot be formatted even from dos promp. It still shows write protected. I tried HP/Low level format etc. software but still not success. One of my pendrive Kingston 6gb with Zero byte cannto be repaired by the HP software .... Now i'm still seaching for the solution... Write protect & Zero byte.

Hi there,

This is what you should do to sort out this problem:
Put the pen drive in to a different computer that the pen drive works on and copy all files and folders off of the pen drive on to the computer. Then you must right click on the pen drive in "My Computer" and click "Format", once the pen drive has been formatted, replace all of the files and folders on to the pen drive and it should now work.

I was using my pen drive till yesterday and even today i used it. All of a sudden when i tried to save a file, i wasnt able to save it as it said location not found. now The Pen drive is detected in PC but...
use diskdigger to recover your files from the drive and then format it.

Unable to open Pendrive
Your pen drive is infected by a virus/worm. I have two solutions for this -   > If you have WinRAR software, just open up the pen drive using this and delete "autorun.inf" from it.  OR  > Use any good antivirus software and scan your pen drive, and disinfect the pen drive from any virus/worms. Remove your pen drive, and insert it again. It'll work fine.

Pendrive write protection removing
Hey, the transcend pen drives usually have a small switch on the side of it, ie to turn the write protect on and off, usually a small lock symbol on it, the problem with unreadable files names etc, could be a corrupt partition, i would suggest formatting the drive as long as you aint got any important information on it,

Pendrive is not working
ic, maybe the usb port of your friend's pc is defective which may cause your pen drive to malfunction, probably a shorted usb port. or just maybe your pendrive was dropped by your friend which damage the drive, it happened to me too before.
