X 20 zojirushi rubber washers inside pan under paddles disintegrated on me. 1 yr. old used 8 times-cleaned carefully.

Have contacted Zojirushi and also Pleasant Hill Grain (where it was purchased from).  No parts available except a whole new bread pan cost of $56.00.  This is considerable as I paid $200.00 for the machine only 1 yr. ago. Warranty up 3 weeks ago.  Zojirushi wants me to ship my bread pan to them, they MIGHT replace it, however this is quite an inconvenience considering it is THEIR, I say, faulty parts.  They say- cannot get just any rubber washers to go in as this requires washers to be soaked in vegetable oil first to insure no friction. A rubber washer is not just a rubber washer, u must use the correct type of washer made from a variety of different rubber compounds, these include
Neoprene
Nitrile
Silicone
EPDM

Viton®
These are all "rubber" washers, if I had to pick one for your application it would be "Nitrile" rubber, it resists heat and is almost impervious to chemicals like oil. Go to the following web site they can lead u in the right direction for obtaining these washers in the correct size and rubber compound.

You will need to replace it..Go on google and look for the manufacturers website, from there you should be able to find out a replacement part. Now if you are not lucky then I would suggest ebay, where you get almost anything..Is this causing any failures in the running of this appliance or is it hardly noticeable?

It won't knead :(

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

When you reach in the bottom of the unit with the bread pan installed is there resistance felt as you move the kneading paddle in either direction? Yes = Motor problem No = belt or kneading paddle problem. (Since this a twin paddle machine they both must move at the same time)

The belt can be found here: PN: 8-BBV-P540

The spindles that you attach the paddles to is leaking a black lubricant or something like that. I was making a simple sweet dough. By the way, I NEVER bake in the bread maker. I only use it to knead the...

Your machine has a lubricating grease that is under the small gasket or washer at the bottom of the pan under each paddle. After a lot of use the little gasket can fail and the grease can get get past the gasket and into your bread. The best thing to do is either replace your pan with what is called a "pan assembly which will include everything but the paddles. If you decide to do that be sure to keep your paddles. The other choice of course is to replace your machine which might not be a bad idea if your machine has been used a lot because you would have a new pan assembly but older parts may begin to fail such as the drive belt. Bread machines aren't all that expensive anymore so you may want to go ahead and replace especially since you just use your machine for making dough.

Hi, The leaking is from the sealed bearing that the paddle shaft rotates on. It wears out over time. It can not be repaired and you will need a new bread pan. Sorry Hank

Hi,
There is a sealed bearing at the bottom of the pan. This allows the paddle to rotate. The bearing has failed and is falling apart. This usually happens with age or use. Time for a new bread pan. If you are lucky you can find one on ebay. Sorry for the bad news....Hank

The driveshaft falls out of the pan, even with paddle attached

Hi,
The shaft is pressed into a bearing that is molded and stamped in the bottom of the pan. This bearing is sealed and allows the shaft and paddle to spin freely. The rest of the parts on the other end of the shaft interact with the motor on your machine. They do wear out and can not be repaired because the worn parts are not available individually.

Sorry to say there are no repairable parts, so it's time for a new bread pan. I don't know the brand of your machine so you can google or check ebay.

Bread Machine non-stick starting to peel off

Since your machine is only about 6 months old, it should still be covered under warranty. I'd contact the manufacturer. (Contact information should be in the instruction manual). The teflon coating is just a sprayed on coating. Once it starts to peel, it's not safe to use them. It becomes hazardous (possibly eating it in the bread).

It sounds like you've taken care of the pan as it's supposed to be. If this was an older machine, I'd suggest ordering a new pan. You can find them on the internet quite easily.

Zojirushi bread maker, BBCC-15, Baking Pan,Paddle drive seal

Hi terryhassler,

If you're looking for OEM parts, I'd go to

http://tinyurl.com/3jmx4g

There's a Service & Support link at the top of the page - locations of service centers and the like.

You can also call Zojirushi Customer Service Department - -

800-733-6270, M-F, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST.

Also here's a TinyURL for the manual download page, just so you have it.

If these don't pan-out (no pun intended, I think), the next place I'd start hunting is eBay.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know. If this solves the issue, please rate it accordingly.

Thanks in-advance for using Fixya.com,

Jon

Where can I get replacement parts for the BBCC-15? My keeper clip underneath the baking pan came off and is lost. It holds the wing clip that drives the kneeding blade in the pan.

Zojirushi BBCC-X20 rubber gasket breakdown

Hi D Daniel,

I'd start by getting a new part. Gaskets can be made from a variety of materials - and different types of rubber, or silicon, will have different characteristics. The manufacturer should be able to provide this information to a concerned consumer.

I'd go to Zojirushi's Support page at (TinyURL'd for brevity)
