Question about Mitsubishi WS-65313 65" Rear Projection HDTV

Open Question

Fuzzy screen on my mitsubishi HDTV 1080 series WS-55313

I just bought a used WS-55313 Mitsubishi HDTV 1080 series and I was hoping to get some help on a clearer picture for the TV Stations. The DVD screen quality is beautiful and clear; however, I have attached the TV to the conversion box required to get our local channels due to the digital conversion and the picture is very fuzzy. The same line hooked up to another (smaller) TV was clear. Is there something that I can do to get a crisper view or is this strictly the digital service coming through? I greatly appreciate your time and assistance with this issue.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal, make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

Looks like you are going to be working with the following:

1080i (HDTV) • 480p (EDTV) • 480i (SDTV)

Hook up depends on what else you have connected to the TV.  If you have nothing connected to the DTV component inputs, I suggest using those, as it will allow up to 1080i.  Otherwise, use the 2 other component connections directly to the left of the DTV connections.

sounds like the capacitors on the FMT or Signal PWB need to be replaced.

SOURCE: Cleaning the bulbs and mirror on my Mitsubishi 55" WS-55313 TV.

You should re-consider having a tech do that for you. The access is by removing the screen assmbly which are somewhat fragile. If you want to give it a try, pull the speaker grill off, it comes off just from pulling it, there should be five screws across the bottom of the screen assy, remove those, there is also an access door on the front of the set with four screws, that has to be removed to unplug the cable that goes to the screen sensors. The screen assy has to be lifted straight up an inch or two and then you can pull it forward away from the set.
As far as cleaning the mirror and lenses, you can't get to the face of the tubes so it's the top of the lenses that you clean, just use a soft lint free cloth (cloth baby diaper) and wipe the dust off the lenses, you can slightly dampen the cloth with water if necessary, same type of cloth on the mirror and you can use a glass cleaner on it just don't press too hard on the mirror.

SOURCE: No Audio with HDTV on Mitsubishi WS 55859; no problem w analog tv

Have had bad exprience with RCA converter boxes. The box will lose audio and has to be turned off and then back on. You may want to hit mute during this process, the volume varies from analog to DTV. If you have no problem with analog audio I would look into a different converter box.
