Question about ASUS M2N-E SLI (M2N-E SLI GREEN) Motherboard

3 Answers

No microphone It seems my problem is different to others posting here, in that my sound is fine, it's the microphone that's playing up. Or rather, not playing at all. I've selected it in the volume control dialouge box, and installed the CM501 drivers that came with the motherboard. I can hear my voice through the speakers, but when I try the "test hardware" option in the sounds and audio devices control panel, it doesn't pick anything up. I've tried using the back and front plugs, and different microphones. As I say, everything else is fine, which makes it all the more annoying.... Any help you can give will be gratefully received.....

Thanks for the advice. I'll give the adaptor a go, or try a usb mic.

Help? is there actually a fix for this mess? I can use the programs/accessories/entertainment/sound recorder and I can use audacity to record my voice. But going through control panel/audo and testing there? nothing through the mic. I'm an internet dj ... and my mic isn't working in SAM either. I use a headset/mic dual plug set, and I've even tried one of those free standing awful mics - no joy.

Is there a fix? I read somewhere else that it's a matter of not being able to have a usb mouse or keyboard? Thanks in advance for any help.

It seems that alot of people are having the same problems and it has nothing to do with the line in, i have tried both and personaly beilieve that its a problem with the driver itself, because when i use any of the mics with a different sound card i do not have the problem.

Is your hardware maybe set to line in instead of microphone in control panel, hardware and sounds, sound and then click on the recording tab.

It seems that microphone or volume issue on the other end. Can you try recording through mic and playing back? Hope it works, then there is no issue on your end.

The microphone jack of my Dell Inspiron 1100 seems to be malfunctioned. When I plug in a microphone, the other side does not hear anything. I tried several different microphones and none of them worked....

Check if the correct recoding device is selected on sound properties, and verify if mic is mute.Test mic using the sound recording program.
Try to uninstall and reinstall the sound driver.
Perform diagnostic on the audio using the drivers and utility disc. if mic is not working on the diagnostic tool then need to replace the sound card.

Bought Lips recently and played it fine first

The game was released broken. There is an update on xbox live that fixes it. So you pay twice, once for the game and once for xbox live. If you don't have xbox live or no internet you simply can't play. In other words you got robbed. Nice scam huh?

Microphone not working on Dell Laptop

If you can hear windows booting up then the sound card is ok..you can double check it in Device Manager. To ensure the device drivers are up to date. Just find the sound card in the list of devices in Device manager and click on the "+" to expand it. Then right click on the sound device and click on update drivers. You can also uninstall the drivers and reboot. Plug and Play will pick up the correct drivers..double-check the cables also...good luck. Let me now if you have any questions

Microsoft LifeChat Microphone Headset Doesn't Work Properly

You should take your headset to another computer/location and see if your problem still exists.
That way you can eliminate problems with either your computer hardware or your outgoing internet connection (jitter).
I don't think that the CD will be necessary, since it is a USB device, which contains it's own little sound card and doesn't need any drivers.
If the problem persists and it turns out to be a problem with the headset, I would definitely return/exchange it.

Bad Microphone Feedback / Drowning Backround Sound

It's the fact that people say it loud and so your mic picks it up out of the reciever and plays it again and then the same happens to other people and then it continues on and on. Also it could be doing this because the sound bounces off the Tv if your close to it.

No sound from CDJ-800 MK2

Are you getting error messages? Running in thru LINE? Is not on mute? The possiblity of both not playing would lead to process of elimination.

Keep me posted.
