Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

I got a bran new router 2wire and it did not come with the wep key code the sn number is 940919052035

Hi,

WEP key should be created by you. By default, router's wireless network is unsecured meaning there's no password or WEP key setup on it. Please run the disc that came along with the router and on the process of configuring the router setting up a WEP key is part of the process.

Thank you!

How I had to reset my router to access. I am online with it but the connection is unsecure how do I secure it with a password

HERE are the instructions for setting wireless encryption on your router. In this document there are 3 links. one for setting up 64 bit WEP, one for setting up 128 bit WEP and another for setting up WPA. It explains each one in detail so you can choose the right one for you. Just know that WPA is stronger encryption and therefore harder to crack.

Wireless conection problem

is it a internal wireless built in or an external card, for the internal, make sure your wifi is lit up usually this is above the keyboard, or it is an icon on keyboard usually on the F1 through F8 keys, if it is an external wireless card, if you are not on a open, unsecure wireless connection, you need a wep key to connect, if it is your in home network, the wep key is located under your modem, it is a mixture of numbers and letters, to get to these settings go to start-settings-control panel- wireless- and type in the wep key there, hope this helps.

Cant hookup to wireless

The DS can only connect to unsecured wireless or wireless with WEP security. If your router is using WPA, the DS can not connect to it. I heard the DSi can use WPA but I have not confirmed that yet.

Note, I do not recommend unsecuring your wireless or using WEP. If you must use the DS wirelessly, it may be better to get a nintendo dongle/USB stick or another wireless router that you can lock down to prevent unauthorized access to your primary network.

I'm having problems getting my 2nd computer hooked up on my wrt54g router. please help

Try it wired first, if doesn't work its your basic configuration if it does try removing WEP and running unsecured. If you can connect focus on your WEP settings, if you can't connect focus on the antennae, hardware, and radio settings. If you connect without WEP and can't connect with, use the 64bit hex key it generates instead of your pass phrase. Many wireless cards have trouble using the passphrase.

Encryption set up

if you are using wpa encryption, you need to make sure that your wireless computers are wpa-compliant. if not, use wep as your encryption.
if you're using wep, you need to enter the 10-digit or the 26-digit hexadecimal code to your wireless computers instead of the passphrase.

hope this'll help you

ciao!

Security

Till the time you put a access code for the wireles it would show it as a unsecure connection. You can change this by accessing the router page.Just type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of internet explorer.Than it would ask you for username and password. Its ussually admin and the password field blank.Than go to wireless settings and the security to WEP.than you can put a password of either 5 or 10 digits.U can put your phone # which would be easy to remember and than just save the setting.Next time when you would try to connet to it than it would ask you to put the access code and will show up as secure connection.
I hope that helps
