HP Officejet Pro L7680 shows "Phone off hook"

It worked fine for awhile but now even if I call it from a different line to check it the line is always busy. I took another HP Officejet Pro 7580 and put it in it's place. Same issue. If I unplug the Printers the line rings (I put a phone in that line to test) and when I put it back it is busy just that quick.
WTH?

The Phone line when they installed it for the fax was "Polorized" and once that was taken off it works fine.

Scroll through the menu of the machine and come to the fax settings and then and chck if the line in use is line 1 or not,the DRP is set properly according to your telephone service provider, you have the phone line connected to line 1 port of the machine, you are not using a digital line for the fax machine,if you have a TAM then set the printer to picj\k up fax calls at two more rings than your telephone.

if you want a technician to do the entire troubleshooting for you.You may get in touch with one of the techbuddies, they offer free technical support for such issues.

How do I clean HP officejet Pro L7680 All pictures have severe vertical lines??

Have you tried the "clean print head" option in the HP Officejet Pro software on your computer? This will often fix verticle lines. But, it will use a lot of ink.

I have an hp officejet pro L7680 printer and am having trouble finding new 88xl cartridges for it. Will the 940xl cartridges work in this printer

Hi there,
You cannot install HP 940 Cartriges for Officejet Pro L7650 as they are not compatible and the mechanism is different for both the cartridges,
In your printer, the HP 88 fits on the left bottom corner of the printer and the HP 940 cartridges are mounted on the Printhead inside the printer on HP Officejet 6500 AIO.

My HP 7780 always says phone off hook. When I disconnect the phone line for awhile and reinstall it faxes once properly then the phone off hook message reappears.

I use a VOIP line and get the same error msg. Here's what I do- I dial the fax number with the line unplugged (hence no off-hook message), press "start Fax", and as soon as I hear the fax machine "Click" to pickup the line, I put the line in the machine. Works every time!

Hp Pro L7680 not coming on

Check if you see any light glowing in the power adapter, that is connected to the printer . If there isn't , then probably you may change to a new power cord and adapter.

You can also try a different wall socket.
Even afte that if the problem persists , then it could be printer issue. it needs to be replaced.

This unit will not receive faxes. It just shows as phone being off the hook. If I call the fax number I have a busy signal. If i plug a regular analog phone to it, it works fine. I just can't get this...

Well its just setting in the printer control pane.Theres an option fax settings under the menu button.Under that you will find the relevant options to turn it off.If you want any further support, an online technician from techbuddies can help you for free. For this log on to http://tinyurl.com/m7ghqz

My officejet pro L7680 does not receive fax. The ring setting is for 3 rings and the little green light is on the auto answer switch. It sends nicely.

Since you can send faxes, it's not the phone line or cord. It's most likely that you have the "distinctive ring" option set to something other than "all rings", check that first.
